Thank you to the P&C and parent volunteers who assisted at the Barrier Carnival operating the BBQ and canteen last Friday. Thanks to everyone for supporting the P&C Father’s Day Stall last Thursday also. The Year 6 students continued their transition activities by having a lesson taught by a Science faculty member from Broken Hill High School. A reminder for our Aboriginal students wishing to attend the high school transition activity on Wednesday next week, please return your permission notes to your teacher. This week we have the Camp Quality puppet show for all students. The K-2 children are having the Police visit on Tuesday this week. Mrs McInerney is enjoying some long service leave for three weeks this term and two weeks next term. Miss Whittle will be taking 3/4M for the remainder of the term and Mrs Berry will have 3/4M for the first two weeks next term.

Book Week Winners Last Thursday the following students had a morning tea in their honour after winning in the Book Week Competition:Luke Hall, Sarah Young, Tahlia Bannerman, Matthew Lazzaro, Tim Bugmy, Harn Elston, Oliver Campbell, Brie-Ann Groves, Kiarra Cole, Kihl McEvoy, Tahlia Probert, Jasmine Fisher, Aria Ferguson, Kiarra WilladsenHalliday, Ronald Hunter and Jack Robertson. Barrier Athletics Carnival The Barrier Athletics Carnival was held on Friday 30th August at the Picton Oval. Thank you to all who assisted with the cake and BBQ stalls. Broken Hill was the winner of the carnival. Morgan Wheatley came First in Senior Girls Shot Put.

Railway Town Hard Ball Cricket Training On Thursday 12th September primary students who would like to play cricket on Saturdays are asked to come along to our nets at 4pm and try out.

The bar has been raised again! To participate in representative activities from now to the end of the year children must have achieved Level 7. They also need to maintain above the line behaviour and attitude to enjoy the privileges of this level.

Free Dental Check Up All children aged 0 to 18 years are entitled to free dental treatment at NSW Health – Far West Local Health District. The School Dental Clinic is in the grounds of Morgan Street School in Union Street, Broken Hill. Appointments can only be made by phoning the Contact Centre on 1300 552 626.
