Please accept this invitation to use this Prayer Diary to unite our church family in prayer each day with the intention suggested, and for the residents in the street or area of our Union of Parishes in italics.

1st: Let us rejoice in the amazing love of God our Father, and pour out to him our needs, cares and concerns. [Matt. 5:33] (Tanyard Lane, Tullamore) 2nd: Heavenly Father, enable us to be more kind to others, more honest with ourselves and more dedicated to you. Amen. (Mucklagh) 3rd: Today we celebrate St. Thomas. He lost his faith and found it again. Help us, like Thomas, to hold on until the dark changes to the dawn. [John 20:24-29] (Collinstown, Clara) 4th: We pray for those afflicted by natural disasters, by terrible accidents and by war. Lord of life, bring good out of every evil. (Pollagh, Ballycumber) 5th: Father, wherever the Church is dry and parched, may the water of your Spirit well up to refresh and renew, to bring life and strong new growth. (Cappydonnell) 6th: Lord, make us more aware of our thirst for you, so that we come to you ready and eager to receive your living water. (Lowertown, Tyrrellspass) 7th: Good Shepherd, we thank you for the opportunity of meeting together this day to worship you. Thank you for the joys and blessings you give us every day. 8th: We pray for those who are suffering in body, mind, spirit and emotions. Grant them your healing and comfort, Lord, and may your Spirit envelop and sustain them. (Gallstown, Rochfortbridge) 9th: We pray for those who have become addicted to drugs, alcohol and smoking, and who are longing to be set free. Break their chains and liberate them, Lord. (Arbutus Court, Tullamore) 10th: Lord, allow our world to see the true value of things, so that the worthless and dangerous are unmasked and real needs are acknowledged. (Westwood Grove, Clara) 11th: Guide our leaders in wisdom and integrity, and enable us all to co-operate in proper care and stewardship of the world’s resources. (Canal Bank, Ballycumber)

16th: Lord, help us to pave the way to peace with the costly stones of compassion and forgiveness. (Brides Lane, Tullamore) 17th: Open our eyes, Father, to the light of your glory in the world you have made, in the people around us and in the face of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Westwood Park, Clara) 18th: We pray for deeper trust and friendship between the nations, for a universal desire for peace and the willingness to take the risks it demands. (Derrynagun, Ballycumber) 19th: We pray for Christ’s calming reassurance to bring peace of mind and spirit to those worried about the future, and those dreading some difficult event. 12th: We pray that peace and good will may prevail today throughout Northern Ireland as parades take place. Lord hear our prayer. (Heathfield, Rahan)

20th: We pray for the capacity to be positive and encouraging in all our relationships; for the right words to say in order to be peace makers. [Matt. 5:9] (Ballycallaghan, Tyrrellspass)

13th: We pray for our homes and families, that we may recognise Christ’s presence living among us, deepening and extending our love for one another. (Derrygolan, Tyrrellpsass)

14th: We pray for the world-wide Christian community, that unceasing prayer and praise may be offered night and day, and Jesus revealed to the world. (Harbour Road, Kilbeggan)

22nd: Today we celebrate St. Mary Magdalene. Thank you, Lord, that you turn sinners into saints when we acknowledge Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. (Corcloon, Rochfortbridge)

15th: Lord, amid the turmoil of sudden destruction, death and violence, bind up the wounds of broken hearts and comfort all who mourn. (Drumman, Rochfortbridge)

23rd: Heavenly Father, our help in times of need, we rejoice in the way you look after us, and thank you for providing for all our needs. (Dean Place, Tullamore)

24th: Lord of all mercies, into your care we commit those of all ages who are in any kind of danger and live in fear. [Psalm 91] (Station Road, Clara) 25th: Today we commemorate St. James the Apostle, the first of the Apostles to suffer martyrdom. Help us also to be always faithful to Jesus.
