There was a bear his name was Pete. Who lived in Burk’s Falls on Ontario Street A good appetite this young bear had If he was hungry, he could get mad. This fellow was black and had four big feet. If this guy got loose and was roaming the street On some moonlit night I would not want to meet.

Pete stands high atop a pole at the home of Kay and Allan Purdie in Burk’s Falls.
His master’s name was Allan Purdie. This man was quite big and sturdy. He got Pete when he was a wee guy. Allan and his dad owned a service station. Allan also drove taxi with Pete in the cab What better life could a young bear have? Many school pupils both public and high Would visit Pete while passing by. And give him some of their treats He was always happy to get some sweets. In return he has given them memories neat, From a bear named Pete.
