Harmonium Players: Learn to invert the chords and recognize them in any position: C= C E G, but it can also be played E G C, or G C E, etc. Knowing these inversions will help in finding drone notes that will match the guitar chords. Remember that you don’t have to play all the notes of a chord, especially when moving from one chord to the next. Please note: The drone notes listed in this book are to be used only when the harmonium is playing alone. If you add a guitar or other instruments that use chords, you must change drone notes throughout the chant to reflect the other instruments’ chords. This will help you to avoid unnecessary dissonance. C4, C7, C9, etc.: If you are unfamiliar with chords like this, just play the simple chord, C.
