Video games should be a part of the education system. First I want to make It clear that I am talking about some games not all of them. There are some games that are violent but also educational, for example: the Assassin's creed series. Well I'm going to tell you what games they are and how they are educational, why they should be allowed in school, and how they help people learn.

First off lets start out with how they are educational. I always thought educational games were only those ones for little kids. That was before I saw the commercial for Assassin's Creed 3, I was amazed that it was both violent, but educational. Now here's how, the game allows you to relive events that happened In the past, but with a twist. Also once you get to certain parts in the game something appears in the top right corner, that is either a historical event, place,or person. A somewhat educational game would be Slender. How is kinda strange though, It teaches you not to go out at night alone. Portal 1 and 2 both teach you the same things but 2 teaches you more, heres what they both teach you about, they both teach you about momentum, how to manipulate the force of gravity, and they both help stimulate the mind with hard but fun puzzles. Portal 2 teaches you about how reflect and refract lasers. My final educational games are Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games,Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, and Mario and Sonic at the London Olympic Games. They are all educational for the same reasons, they all teach you what games are in what Olympics and during the games you can find trivia about the Olympics.

Secondly lets see why they should be allowed In schools. Though some of these games are violent, the violence tricks kids into playing the game and learning. They are also a fun and entertaining way to, so more students will pay attention to it. Just to be sure I'm not saying that playing the games should be the only thing they should do in school, just to use them to help them learn. Finally I want to say that not all the games are violent like Mario and Sonic, and portal 1 and 2 but they teach nonetheless.

Finally here's how they help people learn. For starters portal 1 and 2 and assassin's creed both teach you things by having you experience them. Though portal also has puzzle that get the brain ready for learning and assassin's creed also has something appear in the corner when your near certain places, people,or events. Mario and Sonic teach by making you get these fun facts about the Olympics to pass through the game.

In conclusion I still stand with my opinion that "some" video games should be a part of the educational system. Other people might have different opinions about video games, but what do you think. Thank you for reading my paper I really appreciate it.
