What is the Allen Carr’s Easyway benefit Allen Carr’s Easyway is one of the most successful end smoking programmes in the world. They deal with the real problem, the mental addiction. Once this is effectively achieved withdrawal becomes easy to manage and no willpower is required. Most smokers require one five-hour session with smoke breaks throughout. They are endorsed by the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and have branches countrywide in South Africa. This Vitality benefit lets you1 attend the course at a reduced rate.

Who may use the Allen Carr’s Easyway benefit Members 18 years and older on an active Vitality membership can use this benefit. (A member can only qualify for this benefit from the day of their 18th birthday.)

Getting started To start the benefit, you must contact Allen Carr’s Easyway to find out about your nearest branch and the next available course. You can contact the Allen Carr national booking line on 0861 100 200. Allen Carr’s Easyway will give you a registration form to complete. Before the start of the course, pay the activation fee to Allen Carr’s Easyway and return the completed form. At the course, you must show your: Discovery membership card Your identity document Allen Carr’s Easyway course fee (if you have not already paid) The completed registration form (if you have not already submitted it to Allen Carr’s Easyway).

What you pay Each person who wants to attend a course will save 80% on the normal rate if you have an active Vitality membership.

How it works Only one benefit for stopping smoking You may attend one course with Allen Carr’s Easyway. If you choose to use the Allen Carr’s Easyway benefit, you may not use the Smokenders benefit. You may also only use Allen Carr’s Easyway or Smokenders once during your Vitality membership. If your Vitality membership is cancelled you can continue on the Allen Carr’s Easyway programme but will be required to pay the standard rate for any further payments.

If you stop smoking, contact us If you stop smoking If you stop smoking for three months or more, you must contact Vitality to declare that you are a non-smoker. You may call the call centre on 0860 99 -88 -77 or complete your non-smoker declaration on the website www.discovery.co.za

Random blood tests Vitality may ask you to do a blood test to check whether you have stopped smoking. (The blood test is called a serum nicotine test.)By activating this benefit you give us permission to do these blood tests.

Points you earn 5 000 points for stopping smoking Vitality will give you 5 000 points if you declare that you have not been a smoker for three months or more. In the following years you can earn 5 000 points once a year if you declare you are a non smoker.

Points for being a non-smoker If you are a non-smoker, you can call Vitality to make a verbal declaration or complete a non-smoker declaration on www.discovery.co.za. You will then earn 5 000 points for being a non-smoker. You can earn 5 000 points once per year.

If you start smoking again If you start smoking again, you need to contact us so that your points can be reversed.

Ending the benefit If your Vitality membership is cancelled you can continue on the Allen Carr’s programme but will be required to pay the standard rate for any further payments.
