Roane County Health Department’s Donna Raines reported on Teen Pregnancy statistics. Roane County is 3rd in East Tennessee with 25.8% of girls between the ages of 15-17 years old.



Stephanie Corum with Pathways reported they still has openings for families in transition.



VFD East is always looking for new volunteers and you don’t have to be a firefighter!



Second Harvest is have a fundraiser on July 11th “Blues for Food”. Come out and enjoy The Sauce Boss and Jenna and Her Cool Friends for a shrimp boil hosted by Bayou Bay Seafood House. Tickets include a concert, dinner, and non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets are 35.00 and doors open at 6:30 pm.

Welcoming the New Director of United Way United Way Chairman, Bill Rhyne introduced the new UW Director, Dina Jackson. Amy Harmon resigned but has agreed to help Dina with the transition... so you may still see Amy around the office some. Dina is a Roane County native and has a background in Social Services as well as Marketing and Advertising. She graduated from UT at Knoxville in Human Services and worked with the State of Tennessee and also with the Michael Dunn Center before moving to Florida. In Florida, she began

The Roane County Inter Agency Council is open to any organization (including churches) providing social service/ benevolence programs to the Roane County community. This opportunity to learn about programs and services that are available in our county.. It is also an opportunity to network with other organizations. We would welcome anyone interested in participating. We fell the more that participate, the better connect and efficient we can become in providing services to our community. The Roane County Inter Agency Council meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 11:30 am—1:00 pm. Meeting are held at the United Way offices, which are located in the Rescue Squad building on Roane State Hwy in Midtown. The meeting format is informal with time being allotted for agency announcement, networking and then a featured speaker. Feel free to contact the Roane County United Way for more information.
