P!nk and Avicii keep a firm grip on the top positions on this week’s ARIA Charts … with a combined total of fifteen weeks at number one! Singles: Top 5: 1. Avicii ‘Wake Me Up’ 2. Lorde ‘The Love Club EP feat. Royals’ 3. OneRepublic ‘Counting Stars’ 4. Karmin ‘Acapella’ 5. Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith ‘La La La’ Singles Chartifacts:   #1: Avicii ‘Wake Me Up’ - Sixth week at number one for Avicii draws him level with Roxette’s ‘The Look’ as the longest number one single in ARIA Charts history for a Swedish artist. #9: MKTO ‘Classic’ – second top 10 hit for MKTO – ‘Thank You’ spent three weeks at #2 in April.   #12: Flo Rida Feat. Pitbull ‘Can’t Believe It’ (debut) - Third chart appearance of the year for the American rapper and four-time chart-topper, following ‘Let It Roll’ (#7 Jan. ‘13) and ‘Sweet Spot’ (#25 Apr. ‘13). It is the first single to be lifted from his forthcoming album ‘The Perfect 10’ and is his 18th top 50 single on the ARIA Charts. #20: Passenger ‘Holes’ - After dropping six spots last week, ‘Holes’ has jumped up 16 places for a new peak.   #21: Jessica Mauboy ‘To The End Of The Earth’ - Dropped ten spots last week but has climbed back this week to be one spot above its debut position (thus a new peak).  

 

  #28: Calvin Harris ‘Thinking About You’ - Up 12 spots from last week and enjoying a new peak in the process.   #36: Awolnation ‘Sail’ (debut) - American electronic rock band, enjoying strong support from Australian radio. #37: Rihanna ‘What Now’ (debut) – first new chart entry for Rihanna this year. #43: Robin Thicke ‘Give It 2 U’ – Up 10 spots this week, this is the follow-up single to Thicke’s mega-hit ‘Blurred Lines’ (#1 May ‘13), which spent eight weeks at the top of the chart this year. Also appears on Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ album (#4 Jul ‘13).       Albums: Top 5: 1. P!nk ‘The Truth About Love’ 2. Horrorshow ‘King Amongst Many’ (debut) 3. Passenger ‘All The Little Lights’ 4. Albums Chartifacts: #1: P!nk ‘The Truth About Love’ - Having returned to the top last week, P!nk manages to hold on for a second straight week and ninth week overall with ‘The Truth About Love’.   #2: Horrorshow ‘King Amongst Many’ (debut) - The third studio album from Sydney hip hop duo Horrorshow is their first to crack the ARIA top 100 (the band was nominated for an ARIA Award for their debut album ‘The Grey Space’). Consisting of Solo (MC) and Adit (producer), this is their first album in four years. ‘King Amongst Many’ is the first release from Elefant Traks supported through the Australia Council’s recent Recording Initiative Grant, and was Triple J feature album a couple of weeks ago #7: Michael Buble ‘To Be Loved’ – up 11 places, this albums jumps back into the top 10  

 

  #9: Snakadaktal ‘Sleep In the Water’ (debut) - Debut album from Melbourne indie quintet. Their self-titled EP charted inside the top 100 for one week in December 2011, hitting #78.     #13: Five Finger Death Punch ‘The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell, Volume 1’ (debut) - Fourth studio album for American metal band and the first of two to be released this year. ‘The Wrong Side Of Heaven’ gives them their highest peak to date, previously held by ‘American Capitalist’ (#50 Oct. ‘11).     #23: Jasmine Rae ‘If I Want To’ (debut) – ‘If I Want To’ is Jasmine Rae’s 3rd album, with the Australian country singer’s previous albums ‘Look It Up’ and ‘Listen Here’ debuting on the Charts at #23 and #9 respectively.   #25: Michael Buble ‘Collection’ (top 40 debut) – First time in the top 40 for this ‘collection’ of albums. #35: The Civil Wars ‘The Civil Wars’ (debut) - American country-folk duo’s second studio album and the first to appear on the ARIA Charts. Their only previous ARIA Chart activity was as a featured artist on the Taylor Swift single ‘Safe & Sound’ (#38 Mar. ‘12).   #37: Pond ‘Hobo Rocket’ (debut) - Members of the Perth musical family tree that also includes Tame Impala (with whom they share several members), this is the fifth album from Pond and their highest-charting to date. It’s the follow-up to ‘Beard, Wives, Denim’ (#64 Mar.’12).     Streaming Tracks Top 5: 1. Avicii ‘Wake Me Up’ 2. OneRepublic ‘Counting Stars’ 3. Lorde ‘The Love Club EP’ 4.
