Michael Buble tops the ARIA Albums Chart for a third consecutive year with ‘Christmas’, as John Legend holds on to the top singles spot Singles: Top 5: 1. John Legend ‘All Of Me’ 2. Magic! ‘Rude’ 3. Eminem Feat. Rihanna ‘The Monster’ 4. Jason Derulo ‘Trumpets’ 5. Pitbull feat. Ke$ha ‘Timber’ Singles Chartifacts:   #1: John Legend ‘All Of Me’ – Week two at the top of the ARIA Charts for American singersongwriter and current visitor to our shores, John Legend.   #4: Jason Derulo ‘Trumpets’ – A move of 18 spots up from last week’s chart position. It becomes Derulo’s fourth top ten single for 2013 following The Other Side (#4 May ’13), Talk Dirty (#1 Aug. ’13) and Marry Me (#8 Oct. ’13). All tracks come from his album Tattoos (#5 Sept. ‘13).   #9: Various ‘Triple J – Christmas Number 1’ (debut) – Charity single written by Frenzal Rhomb guitarist and Triple J drive presenter Lindsay "The Doctor" McDougall and featuring the likes Phil Jamieson, Tuka, Abbe May, Andy Bull and Bananas In Pajamas, as well as a host of Triple J presenters. While it failed to hit #1 on the Singles Chart this week, it did get to #2 on the Australian Artists Singles Chart.   #10: Pharrell Williams ‘Happy’ (debut) – The new single from singer songwriter/ rapper/ producer Pharrell Williams comes from the soundtrack to the film Despicable Me 2. It’s his first top 50 appearance as a lead artist since Angel (#44 Apr. ‘06). Williams has topped the ARIA Chart twice this year as a featured artist: first with Daft Punk’s Get Lucky (#1 May ’13) and then with Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines (#1 May ’13).  

 

  #26: Rudimental Feat. Emeli Sande & Nas ‘Free’  (debut) – Fifth top 50 single for the British electronic quartet. It follows Feel The Love (#3 Jul. ’12), Not Giving In (#12 Feb. ’13), Waiting All Night (#6 Jun. ’13) and Right Here (#29 Sept. ’13). All of the tracks come from the group’s debut album Home (#2 May ’13).   Albums: Top 5: 1. Michael Buble ‘Christmas’ 2. Taylor Henderson ‘Taylor Henderson’ 3. One Direction ‘Midnight Memories’ 4. Human Nature ‘The Christmas Album’ 5. Katy Perry ‘Prism’ Albums Chartifacts: #1: Michael Buble ‘Christmas’ – For the third consecutive year, Buble’s festive season album has topped the ARIA Albums Chart. It spent five weeks at the top of the chart at the end of 2011 and four weeks at the end of 2012. Never before has an album topped the ARIA Charts in three consecutive years.   #4: Human Nature ‘The Christmas Album’ – In its fifth week on the Chart, Human Nature’s holiday album picks up a new peak.   #21: Jai Waetford ‘Jai Waetford EP’ (debut) – Six-track release from 2013 third placegetter. Includes the single Your Eyes (#6 Nov. ’13) and a duet with Ronan Keating, When A Child Is Born. #28: Mariah Carey ‘Merry Christmas’ – A return to the top 50 for Carey’s seasonal album which was originally released 19 years ago. In its first year of release, it peaked at #2 on the chart and has returned several times since (it reached #19 around this time last year). Merry Christmas includes the yuletide favourite All I Want For Christmas Is You (#2 Dec. ’94).   #37: Childish Gambino ‘Because The Internet’ (debut) – Second studio album from American rapper/producer/actor/comedian Donald Glover under the guise of Childish Gambino. Glovers debut album Camp spent one week at #99 back in January of this year.
