When will AutoCAD for Mac be available to students? The 2013 version of AutoCAD for Mac software is available now. 3. How will AutoCAD for Mac be made available to students? 5. What version will contain a watermark? The versions that will contain a watermark are those student versions purchased from an Autodesk Reseller and those downloaded from the Autodesk Education Community or China Student Design Community. The version offered exclusively on the Autodesk Store is a nonwatermarked version. 6. How long is the license term? Products purchased from the Autodesk Store or an Autodesk Reseller have a perpetual* license (*subject to compliance with the license terms). Products downloaded from the Education Community have a three year (36 month) license. 7. What will happen after three years to the software downloaded from the Education Community? The product will time out, and you will need to request a new serial number to reactivate. ®

8. I have already created and saved designs in AutoCAD for Windows . Will files created in a previous version of AutoCAD work in AutoCAD for Mac? Yes. AutoCAD for Mac supports DWG file formats. You can open files in AutoCAD for Mac that were created in previous versions of AutoCAD. 9. Are there feature differences between AutoCAD for Mac and traditional AutoCAD software (for Windows operating system)? There are minor differences, but none are considered limitations for students or educators. Most of the differences are related to large-scale enterprise installations where network licensing is prevalent and where hundreds or more layers are used in the

design process. A student or classroom lab deployment should not experience any limitations. 10. Are there any feature or functionality differences between the version of AutoCAD for Mac offered to students and educators and the commercial version? No, there are no feature or functionality differences between the education and commercial versions. The only difference is that products offered on the Education Community are watermarked and limited to a three-year license term. The version offered via resellers is also watermarked, but has a perpetual* license (*subject to compliance with the license terms). 11. What languages are supported with AutoCAD for Mac? The initial release supports English only. 12. If a design is created in a watermarked version, will the watermark persist in a nonwatermarked version of the software? Yes, watermarks persist from version to version. A good example is a design created in a version downloaded from the Education Community. All software on the Education Community triggers a watermarked output. If the file is then opened and saved or opened and printed in a nonwatermarked version, the updated file is then watermarked. Note that the design does not need to be modified for this to occur. If your goal is to purchase the nonwatermarked version of AutoCAD for Mac, but you first want to download a copy from the Education Community, consider the watermark issues described above. 13. Where can I find more information about AutoCAD for Mac? Please see Autodesk.com, the Autodesk Education Community, eWeek.com, or cnet News. 14. Do I need to create a new login to download AutoCAD for Mac from the Education Community? No. If you already have a valid login for the Education Community, you do not need to create another account. 15. Can I use my Education Community account to buy AutoCAD for Mac on the Autodesk Store? No. Your Education Community account (login and password) is separate and unique and will not work on the Autodesk Store. You will set up an entirely new account to purchase the product on the Autodesk Store. For more details, see the following question. 16. What process must I follow to buy the AutoCAD for Mac product on the Autodesk Store? You need to create an account on the Autodesk Store. 17. How many copies of AutoCAD for Mac can I buy from the Autodesk Store? You may purchase only one copy of AutoCAD for Mac from the Autodesk Store. Multiple copy purchases are not allowed. 18. Who is eligible for the education promotion for AutoCAD for Mac on the Autodesk Store? Students and educators in the United States and Canada are the only groups eligible for this promotion. Professional or commercial users are not eligible. 19. I am a student but don’t have a credit card. How can I purchase AutoCAD for Mac? You can have a parent, guardian, or other party purchase the software for you, but you as the registered and activated user must be a student or educator. Autodesk reserves the right to audit all purchases and use of AutoCAD for Mac. To find out more about audits see question 23. 20. Can I purchase AutoCAD for Mac at the educational price on the Autodesk Store for a friend who is not a student or educator? No you may not. The registered and activated user must be a student or educator. As previously stated Autodesk reserves the right to audit any and all purchases and users. To find out more about audits see question 23. 21. Can I buy AutoCAD for Mac at the student price outside the United States and Canada? No. The Autodesk Store supports sales only in the United States and Canada. If you want to purchase and you are outside these geographies, contact your local Autodesk Reseller. You can also download the product from the Education Community. 22. What information do you need from me so I can purchase from the Autodesk Store? You need to provide your first and last name, billing address, shipping address, school, phone number, email address, payment type, and credit card number. 23. What is an audit? From time to time Autodesk will randomly contact customers to determine if users are complying with the terms of the EULA (End User License Agreement). In regards to the student and educational versions of software, audits are intended to ensure the allowed uses for educational purposes related to personal learning in support of academic studies.
