There is no other gift quite like jewelry to commemorate milestones in our lives and celebrate the connections we have to the people most dear to us. Yet, you are not alone if you feel intimidated by the idea of selecting jewelry for someone else. Here are some guidelines to give you confidence in this process, which stems from what I have observed over my 20 year career, of designing and selling jewelry. Take note of what she typically wears in terms of size, style and color. Does she wear earrings and how long are they? Does she wear them to work or just for evenings out or to church? Does she wear exclusively gold or silver? Notice the style of the pieces she already has, are they earthy, modern or more romantic? Which colors does she favor in her home décor

Pearls look good on every woman. If pearls seem too traditional or dressy for her, consider ones paired with turquoise; this combination is flattering and more suited for a casual Montana wardrobe.
