Part I

1. I usually phone my friends because it is the fastest way to contact them. Also I take my cell phone wherever I go, so it is pretty convenient as well. Sometimes I send text messages, but this is limited to the situations when I don’t really need an urgent reply. 2. Yes, if I want to contact my friends, I usually send text messages or phone them directly. However, if it is one of my clients, then I rather send e-mails because it contains a lot of information and I want to leave some evidence of our communication. 3. Oh, yes definitely. Nowadays, especially with the wide use of cell phones, I can contact them whenever I want to. But when it comes to busy day times when everyone is working, then sometimes it can get harder to contact them. 4. Obviously not. In the past, people used to use their home telephones, or write and send mails. However, nowadays, people use cell phones or e-mails. Because of this change, the contact itself got a lot easier and faster.

I will describe a party I enjoyed greatly. It was the birthday party of my best friend last year. It was the last birthday party before her wedding, so my friends and I really wanted to make it special. We decided to keep it secret and we started to prepare for the party. First, we made a reservation at a five start hotel room in Seoul. It was pretty expensive, but we thought it was well worth it. Then we bought all the candles, flowers and balloons to decorate the room. Trust me; it took a long time to decorate them all. We invited around 15 people. The more people there are, the more we can enjoy the party. One of the friends told the birthday girl that they had to do overtime work and took her to the hotel. The birthday girl was really angry because of the idea that she had to work on her birthday. However, as soon as she arrived the hotel, and opened the door of the room we reserved, she saw all 15 of us shouting happy birthday. She started to cry in joy and she really appreciated our efforts. We all played games drank nice wine and had perfect dinner. I really enjoyed the party because it gave me a great feeling that we were all one and reminded us of our long standing friendship. She’s now married but whenever we meet we almost always talk about the party looking at the pictures we took.

1. There are some reasons why people organize family parties in Korea. First, family is respected greatly in Korea. People tend to think more for their families first. So it just 강남 IELTS & 종로 IELTS

makes sense that they organize family parties for their family members. Also, because of the same reason, it is usually their family members that people wanted to be with on important days. Yes, definitely it happens in Korea. Sometimes people spend money which is beyond ordinary people’s imagination. I can’t say this is a bad trend because if they can afford it then there is nothing wrong with it. However, if someone spends too much on those parties even if they cannot afford it, just because they want to show off, then it is obviously not desirable. Yes I think there are some differences between family parties and parties given by friends. Family parties tend to involve nice dinner, warm blessings and exchange of gifts. However, the parties given by friends usually involve drinks, games and fun. I’m sure the basis to congratulate the person is the same but the whole atmosphere of those two parties is just different. We have some national celebrations in Korea. In summer, we have big fire work in Seoul and a lot of foreign visitors come to Korea to enjoy the beautiful pictures that the firework makes. Also on August 15, we have what so called Kwang Bok Jul, which is similar to Independence Day. This is just a few examples and there are lots more. I think it depends on what kind of national celebration it is. If it is the fire work we are talking about, then it is usually young people who show interests because it is just perfect when they are going on a date, creating romantic mood. And for the Independence Day, it is usually old people who are more interested because they have the special memories of the actual day when Korea was finally independent from Japan’s invasion. Well, some people indeed think that some national celebrations are a waste of government money. For example, the fire work we have in summer causes huge amount of money and some people think it should be rather allocated to helping the poor. I actually disagree with this view because the enjoyment we get from fire work is beyond the value of any money and also because of the foreign visitors we have; we do get some profits in tourism as well.

1. Well, I like jokes and funny punch lines. So anything with a bit of humour makes me laugh. Especially I like romantic comedies because there are just full of funny lines if you truly understand them. So whenever I am depressed, I look for comedies. 2. Definitely. I like making other people laugh. It just gives me a great feeling that I make them feel happier. I am sure people feel happier when they laugh even if it lasts only for just a few seconds. Also people tend to like those with humours. 3. Laughing is really important. First, it just makes people happier. When they laugh, even if it’s just a short while, people can forget about the worries that they have. Also, scientifically it’s proven that those who laugh more live longer as laughing generates desirable hormones in our body so definitely I think it is important for people to laugh. 4. Well, in a deeper sense, they are not exactly the same because feeling of happiness is from a lot bigger context. However, even if people laugh, not because they are happy but because they just saw funny scenes, it helps people forget about their current worries at that very moment. So in that sense, laughing can be a good starting point to become happier.

I will describe the idea I had for my team project when I was in college last year. In April, my professor gave us one group project to complete. We had to search for a company with the best profile considering working hours, annual holiday, annul salary, job permanency and days off sick. The project was to be completed by the end of June so basically we had almost three months. However, at the end of May, I realized we had no progress at all. Every time we got together, we were busy arguing with each other. I tried to find out the reason and found that we were wrong from the start. We didn’t quite divide up the work so every time we came up with the things we had to do, everyone was arguing over who should do it. So I told everyone in the team that we should start from the beginning again and we should divide up the work equally so that everyone knows who to turn to regarding each responsibility. They agreed. And so we had to start all over again, but we had an incredible result. We were able to finish the whole project within a month and got an A+. It was much more efficient and time saving. If people do not know what they should do individually they tend to think it’s somebody else’s responsibility. So sometimes strict lines between the responsibilities are needed.

Part III

1. Well I partly agree to the idea. Understanding what happened in the past is definitely important because history repeats itself and we can learn from the mistakes from the past. However, education should not only focus on the past. If we want to proceed with improvement, we should find the better ways that were not exploited in the past. Otherwise, we will just live in the same old society forever. 2. Of course education should encourage students to have their own new ideas. Humanity can proceed with inventions and innovation. And this new concept always stems from people’s new ideas. So it is inevitable that we try to encourage students to be more creative with their own new ideas. 3. I think it is better for teachers to lead students to be more creative in teaching. For example, when teaching history, they can ask students what else they would have done if they were to be in the same situation. And from this discussion, students can be exposed to each other’s ideas. 4. Yes I think managers should target for those who have broken the mould. Obviously it is important to follow the company’s culture and rules, but without each other’s new ideas the company will definitely fall behind of others in this competitive society. 5. I think so. I read this article about how stubborn people are when it comes to a new change. For example, even though we have a great key board layout system called Divorjak; people don’t want to change their key board layout to this new and a lot more efficient keyboard because of their habit. People have strong resistance to a change. 6. I think putting the new ideas into practice is much more difficult. We always hear about new inventions that have great potential to change our world, but we have relatively less news about how they were successfully applied in our real life. Having a new idea is easy, but because of people’s strong resistance towards change, putting them into practice is a lot more difficult. However, for a company to be successful, they should be able to break the mould and come out of the given tradition.

1. Yes. I am very sensitive to cold, so when the temperature drops down below zero, I always feel very cold. I’ve been to Rocky Mountain which is in Canada in winter time. And it was just freezing cold. I think the thermometer pointed at minus 20 at that time. Because of the snow, most of the roads were blocked and so my friends and I just had to stay in the hotel. 2. Well in Korea in winter, the temperature usually drops down well below zero. The wind chill is usually lower at around minus 10 to 15. So at least four months a year, it’s very cold in Korea. 3. Of course it is colder in northern parts of Korea. I heard from those people living in those areas that it usually goes down to minus 15 in winter time. And so those people who have to stay in those areas for their military service often complain of the cold weather. However other areas in Korea are not that cold. 4. Well maybe because cold weather reminds me of Christmas, I tend to like cold places than hot places. However, provided that Christmas doesn’t exist, I’d rather live in a hot place because I’m very sensitive to cold.

I will describe a competition that I took part in. I started learning how to play the piano when I was 6 years old. And for 10 years from then, my life was all about the piano. My mother’s lifelong dream was to make her daughter a famous pianist. So with all those lessons, I can say I was pretty good at playing the piano. When I was in grade 6, my piano teacher advised me of the piano competition that was held by Seoul City Council. The competition was to be held 6 months later and the prize was one million won, which was obviously very big for an elementary school student. From the date, my mother and my teacher put every effort to improve my skills. I think I practiced for more than 5 to 6 hours every day and I was getting better and better. Finally, on the day of the competition, I went to a big concert hall located in one of the universities in Seoul. I heard there were forty other competitors who were short listed from the previous procedures. When it was my turn to play the piece I had prepared, I prayed hard so that I wouldn’t be too much nervous and make mistakes. After 5 minutes of nerve racking time, my piece was finished and everybody was clapping so hard. I could see I did a good job. On the same day, they announced the winner and I was chosen. I was happy not because I won the prize of one million won, but because I satisfied everybody including myself.

1. Well competition is a good motivation factor to encourage students to try their best. As everyone has basic instinct to win over others, it is obvious students will try harder if the activities are competition based. Also our society itself is running on the competition as it often chooses the best person among others. 2. Of course I strongly agree with the idea of giving prizes to children who accomplish the given tasks well. Prizes often become very important motivation factors. At home as well, if a mother promises to give a prize to her child, the child often engages in the tasks with best of their effort. So obviously this concept can be applied to school settings as well. 3. I would say it has become more competitive. When I was young, if I did better than others, I obviously felt good. But if somebody performed better than me, I was willing to give praise to the person. However, nowadays, when I see young children, they sometimes cry over the unsatisfactory results and complain a lot. I think this is strongly related to parenting. Parents nowadays seem to brainwash their children that if they cannot win over others, they should feel miserable as if it’s the end of the world. 4. There are advantages and disadvantages of intensive training for young sports people. The obvious advantage is that they can improve their skills at the fastest rate. Sports require strong physical conditions and this has to be achieved when they are still young because once they get older, in order to achieve the same improvement level, they should try a lot harder. However, the disadvantage is that maybe the freedom of those young sports people is taken away without any questions. Everyone has the right to have good memories with their friends and so on but with this intensive training, they cannot fully engage in those activities with others. 5. Well I think there is no clear cut for this, but I believe the sense of competition rather improves one’s performance level. This competition and feeling of insecurity always come together, but this feeling of insecurity will lead to a better performance for sports stars. Thus overall competition leads to better results rather than undesirable impacts. 6. Any sport can become too competitive when the main aim only focuses too much on winning over others. So sometimes sports stars are on news because they take drugs to improve overall performance level. I think it’s such a shame. The real meaning of sports is not just to win. Of course winning is better than losing, but the spirit of sports is to try their best.

1. I usually travel to work by subway. There is a subway station within 5 minutes of walk, which is very convenient. I have to go for 6 stations and transfer to line number 4 at Sadang station in order to get to my company. Overall it takes about 30 minutes. 2. No, at first, I was taking buses because it seemed like I have more chances to grab a seat in the bus rather than subways. However, one day, I was late for work because of the terrible traffic jam and unfortunately it was the day of an important business meeting with one of my clients. So I had to hurry up everything in order to make up for the delay. From then on, I never travel by bus to work. 3. It takes about 30 minutes from my house to my office but if I take a bus, it takes more than one hour during rush hours because of the serious traffic congestion in Seoul. Subways on the other hand are free from traffic jam problems. So I can always get to different places more quickly. 4. I think they should run more trains during rush hours. Well they already run a little more trains when it’s busy, but it’s still packed with people. And it always ruins my morning. If they run more trains, obviously people will suffer less from the horrible pushing and pulling.

I will describe my computer as one of the most useful electronic equipment. I actually learned how to operate the machine called a computer when I was in middle school. However, at that time, personal computers were not widely used and the internet system was very slow and annoying because of the dialling system to get connected on the internet. As I got into high school, suddenly there was a boom in computer industry and the world of the internet was just endless and full of wonders. My school had computer classes where they taught students how to use computers and the internet wisely. I’ve had many different computers of my own since that time but the one I have right now is just perfect for me. Last year, I was looking for a nice computer because I wanted to buy the one which I could use for a long time. And on my birthday my dad gave me this computer as a birthday present. It was so beautifully designed with not only exterior but also great feature interior capacity as well. I’ve had it for almost a year now but still I’ve never had a problem with my computer yet. I actually have to produce a lot of documents for my work and because of the work load I often continue working at home as well. So when I work at home, I can work as listening to music, and talking to my friends on the messenger programs. So my favourite electronic equipment is my computer.

1. Well, I guess our homes are full of different machines and gadgets. In the kitchen, we have stoves for cooking, dish washers for washing dishes, and refrigerators for keeping food cool .In the study we obviously have computers and audio systems. For cleaning purposes, we have vacuum cleaners and washing machines. I guess we basically cannot live without those machines nowadays. 2. The obvious benefit is that it saves a lot of time and energy in our life. Instead of hand washing all those clothes every day, we can just throw everything into washing machine and that’s it. Instead of writing down everything by hand, we can type it up quickly and print it out. Meanwhile, we can read books or watch TV. However, the negative effects might be it can be the cause of polluting our world. In order to use those machines, we have to use up electricity and in order to produce this electricity, a lot of energy is consumed and thus polluting our world. 3. I think so. Already there are some new houses with refrigerators and washing machines equipped. I guess because these have become essential the companies will try to attract more buyers with the fancy and high-tech machines equipped in the houses. 4. Definitely it’s a computer. Nowadays, it’s impossible to proceed their work without the use of the computers because communication is based on e-mails and messengers and also to produce documents it’s just much faster to use word processor. Other equipment that’s widely used is telephone, fax machine and printers. 5. It’s hard to say the technology directly affected employment rate itself because although I admit that some jobs were replaced by computers, because of the use of computers we have a lot of newly created jobs. However, definitely the pattern of employment has been changed. Nowadays, more people are employed in IT area, especially in Korea because Korea is a world leading country in IT industry. 6. Well I’ve never worked in the situations without the use of computers so it’s hard to compare which one is better. But if I picture myself in working without the use of computers, it just feels not right because everything is processed so slowly and a lot of patience might be required. Maybe I’m addicted to computers already.

1. No, actually I don’t enjoy dancing. Well people tell me dancing really helps to lose weight so I even went to different schools to learn how to dance. But it wasn’t just for me. When I dance, it looks like I’m just stretching myself. 2. Yes, I went to some schools to learn to dance better. In those schools, there were professional dancers who were giving instructions. However, I couldn’t even follow the very basic move. 3. In Korea, we have this dance called Tal Chum. When you perform Tal Chum, you wear a mask, and this mask usually looks very scary. On each of your hands, you put on long glove-like clothes. And by moving your arms, you go with Tal Chum. 4. I don’t think traditional dancing will be popular in the future. Already young people are very much into western dancing. And even old people are not interested in traditional dancing.

I will describe my sister. Her name is Lily and she is two years younger than I am. She’s a lot taller than I am and sadly she is a lot skinnier than I am as well. She has a pretty face and so she has been really popular in her schools and workplaces. She’s now working as a flight attendant. She’s been working as a flight attendant for almost three years and she loves it because she has a lot of chances to go around the world as she works. She is very outgoing and sociable so she has many friends. In her free time, she’s always busy answer calls from her friends who want to hang out with her. I really like my sister because even though she is younger than I am, she always gives me great advice and it seems she’s the one who understands me the most in the world. So I love my sister.

1. People in a family can be similar to each other in several ways. First, their appearance obviously resembles each other from a genetic factor. Also, as they have most of time together and live together for a long time within the same house, they inevitably share similar personalities and personal values. 2. It’s hard to say daughters are always more similar to mothers than male relatives. For me, I actually resemble my father a lot more than my mother in both personality and

appearance. But usually daughters tend to resemble their mothers more than male relatives. Same concept applies here as well. There are always exceptions. However, usually sons tend to resemble fathers more than mothers. So I’ve seen so many cases where even though some sons don’t like their father’s behaviours, they become really similar to their fathers without realizing it. Well this is a controversial issue of nature versus nurture. I personally believe people are more influenced by their friends. I’ve seen in many cases where teenagers go into chaotic situations because they hang around with trouble makers even though their families seem to be perfect. I think if they want to find more about genetic research, they should go to university directly in which those professors actually work in those issues. I don’t think genetic research itself is a big topic in Korea yet. So common people are not really interested in the topic. I think people in Korea welcome the idea of genetic research. We are well aware of the possible benefits of successful genetic research. However, people still feel that this issue is somebody else’s story. I think this research should be funded by the government. If private companies start to get into this research area, even if they come up with successful results, I’m sure not very many people will be able to enjoy the benefits.

1. I actually like listening to all different kinds of instruments. But the one that I like most is piano. I myself learned how to play the piano for a long time, so whenever I listen to piano music, it just makes me feel calm. So whenever I want to concentrate more on studying, I listen to piano music. 2. Yes, when I was 6 years old, my mother decided to teach me how to play the piano. In Korea, it’s very common for girls to play the piano. I actually learned it for more than 10 years and wanted to become a pianist. But as I grew up, my dream changed to become a teacher, so I gave up the dream. 3. I think it will be helpful if we teach children to play a musical instrument at school because learning how to play different musical instruments out of school requires a lot of money. So it is usually limited to those who can afford the lessons. So for more fair opportunities, it is necessary. 4. I definitely think it is very difficult to learn to play an instrument without a teacher. Once they reach some level where they can develop their skills by themselves, obviously they will not need a teacher. But in order to get to this level, anybody needs a teacher who can guide students.

The activity that I enjoy doing and that is healthy is to go jogging every morning. I used to be in a very loose daily routine. I always rushed through everything in the morning as I couldn’t get up earlier. And I stayed in the office all day long and after I came back home, I just sat down on my couch and watched TV until I went to bed. Basically there was no exercise whatsoever. And one day, I had to run up a hill in order to catch my friend and I realized I was totally out of breath although it was a short distance. At that time, I was little scared thinking that I might have some trouble with my lung. So I planned out the exercise. Considering my life styles, I thought I needed to change my morning schedules because that was the only time available for exercise. I started to get up one hour earlier and went to a park near my house. Fortunately, there is a beautiful park near my house and when I go there, I always see different people enjoying morning air. Well, frankly speaking, at first, it was terribly difficult to get up earlier. However, as I got used to it, I could feel that I was not tired any more and I could definitely feel that my general fitness was improved. I actually go for jogging by myself because if I try to go up there with somebody, both parties always try to give excuses not to go outside and so it’s hard to keep it as a daily routine. I am proud of myself to have changed my life style for my own health.

1. It depends on the age level. For younger students, they usually go out to the field to play soccer or baseball. For the people in their 20s to 40s, they join the gym and try to follow the guidelines to improve their health and keep fit. For the older sector of population, they usually go to park and simple stretching or jogging is the most common. 2. Needless to say, having regular physical exercise is really important. Especially with all those hectic schedules people have, they tend to ignore the importance of exercise and thus the rate of being afflicted with different diseases is increasing dramatically. Whenever we go to hospital, the first thing we hear from doctors is that we should exercise more regularly. 3. First of all, people are living a very busy life. They don’t have enough time to relieve stress from work or study. Also personal habits affect their health greatly. A lot of people smoke and drink, which inevitably has a negative impact on their health. 4. I guess they don’t actually choose to live unhealthy lives. I think it’s more that they don’t really realize how serious their actions will affect their health. Yes they see different campaigns against smoking, but they tend to think it will not happen to them. If they are aware of the fact that they will actually suffer from all those terrible diseases later on, I’m sure they will not continue the unhealthy habits. 5. I don’t think it’s government’s responsibility to make people’s life style healthy. Everyone has their own right to make a choice and they themselves are the ones who should be fully responsible of what they choose to do. 6. I think the most effective way is public campaigns. They can show the undesirable results people can have if they choose to live unhealthy lives. For example, they can show those pictures of lung cancer patients from smoking so that people will realize how serious it is for them to smoke.

1. In Seoul, most people use public transport. Most of them actually take buses or subways since it is the fastest way to get to work. But I think subways are little more favoured than buses because of traffic jam on roads. 2. Because of the sheer number of people getting to their work during rush hours, the most serious traffic problem is traffic congestion. It sometimes takes more than 2 hours where it should take less than half an hour. 3. It actually affected me a lot. When I was young, I always wanted to have my own car as soon as I turn the legal age for getting driver’s license. However, understanding the road situations in Seoul, my parents would never buy me a car. So I just have to take public transport and it is not very convenient. 4. There can be a lot of solutions, but the most effective one is to have campaigns for public transport. By having these campaigns, we can encourage the public to make more use of public transport so that we can have less traffic on the road. I don’t think it is reasonable to force people to get rid of their cars by passing a law or something.

The sport I enjoy is snowboarding. Actually I’m not very athletic so I was never interested in any kinds of sports. But one day, when I was 12 years old, my parents took me to one of the ski slopes called Whistler. It was when I learned how to snowboard for the first time. At first, because of my lack of abilities in balancing myself, I kept falling down, which almost made me give up. However, my dad with great patience kept on teaching me and guiding me how to balance up myself on the snow. After continuous lessons with my dad, I finally could come down on the slope without falling down. It just felt great. So from then on, every winter, I go up to different ski slopes, snowboarding there with my friends. Fortunately, all of my best friends love snowboarding or skiing. So there was no conflict of what to do in winter among us. The best one I’ve ever tried is called Whistler which is located in Vancouver. Whistler is one of the best ski slopes in the world and the snow is so powdery that makes you feel less painful when you fall down. Also whenever I go there, I always get to see people from all around the world, who came to Whistler to enjoy the beautiful white touch of the nature. I always go snowboarding in winter because it is the best way to relieve stress. Especially nowadays I’m so much stressed out that I need some sort of ways to escape from the heat of the city. And for this, snowboarding was, has been, and will always be my best friend.

1. I guess the whole meaning of games have changed since my childhood. When I was young, when we talked about games, it was to do with some kind of toys, go outside to run and jump around. However, when children talk about games nowadays, it’s always computer games. It became immobile and they just stay inside. 2. I don’t think it has been a positive change because it creates a lot of problems. First, it is harmful for children’s health as they just stay inside so they may suffer from lack of exercise that is needed for their physical development. Also the games they play nowadays are very violent. It’s all about stealing, stabbing and even killing each other. So it will affect them mentally in negative ways. 3. I think they like playing games because there is this strong sense of winning over others. This competition makes them keep playing it especially when they are good at it. Also the contents of the games are very violent and sexual which will attract more people’s attention. 4. I think competitive games are not very good for children. Of course, learning how to survive in this very competitive world is important, but it is even more important to learn how to cooperate with others. If children are too much forced to win over others every time, it is very likely that they will become selfish and it will be difficult for them to become a useful member of the society when they grow up. 5. Usually it creates strong competition among people, but when it comes to team work, it will help to unite people. There are some games that require several people to work together as a team. In this case, it is inevitable that they cooperate with each other, which obviously in turn will make them united. 6. Well especially in Korea, competition is regarded as very important. I think this is because people think competition is one of the essential tools to be successful. If you win over others, you are successful in that sense. However, I will never want to live in a very competitive society because it just creates too much stress for people.

1. I prefer to have a group of friends. Well just to have a number of acquaintances is not going to be very helpful for me since I have to waste a lot of money and time. But the life with only one friend just sounds too lonely. You know, if I am bored and need somebody to get along with, then it will be difficult if I have only one friend because it should guarantee that we both have free time at the same time. 2. I actually like to go shopping with my friends. When I go shopping by myself, I always regret of buying unnecessary items. But when I’m with my friends, they are very good at controlling my spending habit. Also they know which clothes look good on me and which are not. So I always need their advice. 3. I think it’s important to keep in contact with friends that I knew as a child. The memories we shared together in our childhood are just too precious to easily fade out. And by remembering and sharing those times together, we have a chance to escape from the given situation at the moment. 4. There are some things that will make one a good friend. First, there should not be any lies between the two people. As soon as we start to lie to each other, the credibility between us is broken into pieces and sincerity just doesn’t exist there any more. Another important factor is the belief that the friend will be there for them whenever they need help. A friend in need is a friend indeed. If we have these trust and belief in ourselves, we can be good friends.

Last year, there was a turning point in my life. I had always thought that I would get a nice job as soon as I graduate from university. However, one day, I was reading this book by chance, and the book talked about a girl’s life. She was born into a rich family and everything was guaranteed in her life. However, she challenged herself to go to the third world and become a volunteer helping out those children in need. When I finished reading the book, I couldn’t move for a while and that’s when I decided to move out to the world. I didn’t want to stay in my comfortable life as everybody else. So I started searching for the best schools to teach me how to be ready for volunteering work. Then I found one great university in Australia. This university was supporting one charity group and thus they have a joint program to train volunteers. I told my decision to my parents. Well at first, they couldn’t accept my decision. They tried hard to persuade me to stay in this warmth around me. However, my decision was firm and my parents gave up. They are not the biggest

supporters for me. I’m thrilled to get ready to go out now. I’m studying English and getting myself ready as well.

1. Before adulthood, people usually don’t make a lot of choices because usually their parents make choices on behalf of them. As they graduate from high school, they have to decide which university they want to get into and choose the major. As they graduate from university, they try to look for the best job for them. At this state, people start dating and later on they decide whether they want to get married to the person or no and on and on. Life is full of choices. 2. Well in Korea, it is typical that their parents make decisions for their children. But I believe to some extent, they should be able to decide in which direction they want to tend to. Yes, they are not fully matured yet, but from making mistakes they will learn better about life as a whole. 3. I think people need some kinds of assurance that they indeed made a good choice. If people support their decisions, they feel better and get on to the next plan right away. If people do not really agree with their decisions, they will try to find other directions that will be supported by others as well. From this assurance, they feel comfortable and confident. 4. Well our life is full of choices. We have to decide what to eat for breakfast, what to wear to work, then when we are working in an office, obviously we have to decide what strategies to use to get the best out of our work. After work, we have to decide if we want to meet our friends or go straight home. 5. I think people feel comfortable because they are already used to all the things. They don’t have to worry about if they cannot do well in the tasks. However, I don’t think this is the best way to live our life. I believe changes always bring development. And from this development, human civilization as a whole can improve as well. 6. Yes, I think we have more choices to make than in the past because our life is a lot more complicated than before. Within this complexity, there are a lot more to consider and thus to make choices accordingly.
