CAMP BOMAZEEN KV BEAVER DAY A SUCCESS MERIT BADGE COLLEGE PT 2 REMINDER SPRING BOY SCOUT CAMPOREENEW INFO MOOSEHORN INTERNATIONAL CAMPOREENEW INFO DOWNEAST DISTRICT ADULT LEADER TRAINING COUNCIL GUEST AT DISTRICT MEETING ROUNDTABLEWE NEED YOUR IDEAS ----------------CAMP BOMAZEEN KV BEAVER DAY A SUCCESS From Pete Myers, District Executive: THE BOMAZEEN Full of Harmony CONCERT If you were not at the Bomazeen Concert this past weekend, you missed the biggest and best performance yet! That’s right! First Conductor Casey Morgan performed his premier engagement in the woods at Camp Bomazeen in Belgrade, Maine Sunday April 15 2012. His three- part symphony took weeks of internal and external struggle making sure all of his notes would flow melodically. Days and days of agony were spent in carefully arranging each phase of this masterpiece which was cautiously and methodically planned right down to the last G chord. As the performance date approached, Casey repeatedly rehearsed his solo making sure the orchestra members and their instruments were properly tuned and ready to perform their parts on Sunday the 15th of April, 2012. Leaving no note untuned and making sure all would be on stage at the precise moment he could finally breathed a sigh of relief. Early Saturday morning Casey was in the amphitheater with his baton, instruments and a few of his first string assistants preparing the stage for tomorrow’s inaugural performance. Static was in the air as excitement grew anticipating the opening show the next day. They checked and rechecked the stage making sure everything was in order for this first of a kind herculean concert in years. Night fell and they were ready. As the sun rose over Great Pond, there was Casey in camp readying for his orchestra to arrive. All of a sudden and without warning they began to descend on the stage, all in top notch shape, instruments in hand and ready to perform which they did all day long! Talk about harmony, these sixty plus professionals were the best, nothing but top notes all day with a slight decrescendo at twelve noon but only for a moment to refresh, tune their instruments and then they began a crescendo which ultimately led to the finale of the day! Maestro Morgan and his players performed exceptionally well and are worthy of all the second bows they can tolerate. Casey's fine turned orchestra left one feeling well-fulfilled with mission accomplished! The site is prepared for a second concert in this magnificent woodland on May 5th 2012. Do not miss this second performance. I can hear them singing in the trees!! Bravo!! Bravo!! Take care. Pete Myers --From the organizer of the event, Casey Morgan: Here is the list of accomplishments. They committee has granted us permission to use the new road to access camp sites. It will not be a thru-way. It will remain blocked-off at the uphill end. PARKING: No vehicles will be allowed to park in camp. Vehicles will be allowed in LONG ENOUGH TO DROP GEAR ONLY. Parking will be along one side of Horse Point Road. Bomazeen Ranger, Steve Craig has also arranged with Pike Industries to allow us to park in their gravel pit near camp. There is a trail that leads from the back of the pit through the camp’s old mountain man/wilderness survival area (Cobscook Campsite of the early 1970’s) and meets-up with the new camp road next to Acadia. Be sure to thank Steve Craig for his hard work on this when you next see him. Trust me, this isn't bad. I've participated in events in several states and in Canada. I've been to some events where the parking was literally 5 miles off site with a shuttle service. Once you were there, you were there for the duration of the event. -----------------

Please confer with other leaders in your unit first so I only receive one response per unit. If you hit reply to this email, please DELETE the newsletter from the body.
