Example: TOP5 Falls prevention

Make sure Dot has her handbag on her lap or beside her pillow. If she can’t see it she’ll look for it under the bed and has fallen like this before.

Example: TOP5 Support behaviour

Mike has poor impulse control, will wander and take items that do not belong to him – in seeing him wander staff say” Hey Mike there is an aircraft in hanger 2 that needs your attention” he will follow you – distract him with the newspaper and he will settle in a chair to read.

Example: TOP5 communication

Ted will make a little whistle sound when he needs the toilet. He’s always done it. If he says “I need to…” and then whistles, it means he needs the toilet. Take him to the toilet as he can become disorientated and may go the toilet in the wrong place if not supervised.
