Unison Prayer of Confession for Epiphany

Listening to Scripture

On behalf of the global Church, we corporately confess our sin before God and one another

Old Testament: Isaiah 9:1-7 Gospel lesson: Matthew 4:12-23 (moment of silent reflection upon today’s scripture) Lector: The Word of God for the People of God All: Thanks be to God

Gracious and Loving God, Thank you for loving us and revealing yourself more fully to us through Jesus. Yet, we do not always follow your guidance – forgive us. At times we allow fear to cripple us – heal us. And selfishly we close our hearts and hands to others in need – deliver us. Help us, as your Church, to love indiscriminately and to live as disciples of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Individual Silent Confession Assurance of Grace

Leader: In the name of Jesus Christ, We are forgiven. People: In the name of Jesus Christ, We are forgiven. All: Alleluia. Thanks be to God.

LORD’s Prayer

Williams Barnett

Our Father in Heaven. Holy is Your Name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven; Give us today our daily bread; Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us; Lead us not into temptation, yet deliver us from Evil; For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, Forever and ever. Amen.
