Class 4 Summer Reading Packet

SUMMER READING for incoming FOURTH GRADE Step One: Read one novel from the following list of possibilities:    

Sign of the Beaver (Elizabeth George Speare) The Trouble with Tuck (Theodore Taylor) The Friendship – The Gold Cadillac (Mildred Taylor) The One and Only Ivan (Katherine Applegate)

These books are particularly wonderful books to hear read aloud. Parents may freely participate in the readings by sharing the stories with their children.

Step Two: After completing your choice, write a letter to me that tells a bit about the novel and tells what you were thinking about as you read it. You may use your best CURSIVE handwriting or you may type it. Step Three: Fill in your PASSPORT TO EVERYWHERE with the other books that you read during the summer.
