Comments Sumit felt humiliation and embarrassment. Because he knew what was going to be on that list. It was an innovative punishment by a humorous teacher. Teacher put a notebook on the front bench and told every student to give comments on Sumit, which they were going to read afterwards. Sumit knew his reputation. He was an outclass there because of his ways and behavior and the way others treatment toward him. That was okay but


this commenting punishment was too much and it would totally destroy his remaining self- respect. It would make him a subject of laughter. He needed a miracle like an earth quake or tsunami but nothing like that happened. Chance of a natural disaster in Delhi were negligible. Students came one after another and start adding their comments smiling gladly. Few were even laughing. These were the comments : 1. Sumit you are a total stupid. Look at your face man. 2. He doesn’t do anything and just sit quietly in the back benches. I don’t Understand, why? 3. He never does homework and never brought his pen in the class. Sometimes he writes with the pencil and one day he was writing with A blue crayon. How in the world someone can write with a crayon. Haha. 4. Sumit always has colored spots on his shirt and it is never properly ironed. What are you thinking joker. You are coming to a school. It is not your home. 5. I want to slap on your face whenever I look at you. This is my class. Get out of here. Okay. 6. Nice guy. Sumit never deny helping anyone. He is a good friend. 7. Okay. I never talked to Sumit but as everyone in the class told me that sumit is a dumbo and I shouldn’t talk to him. So I never will. 8. You should be punctual and up to date and complete your work. Getting good marks in the exam is not enough. All the girls laugh at you. 9. Weird. 10. I am going to make you sorry for what you did to me that day. Someday I am gonna get you. 11. I think Sumit is a very good boy and please stop insulting him


every-day like this or I will complain to the principal. Why you treat him badly? How do you feel if someone would treat you bad? 12. Joker. 13. He gave me a rose on rose day. Haha. Can you believe it? I threw it in the dustbin and it was so funny. You should look at his face at that time. 14. I love you. You were my first crush when I came new. I watch you daily and I know you are a really nice boy. Love you baby. 15. You will become a beggar one day. You don’t complete home-work and classwork. You are a totally useless person. 16. He throws ink on other people. Please take his ink from him. 17. I saw him pissing in the class once when everyone was in the lab. 18. Every-one of you is a bastard and stop doing this for God sake. You have some heart or not. 19. He is a complete entertainment and he makes everyone laugh all the time. Class is incomplete without him. I would be happy to have a friend like Sumit. 20. You gave her a rose and she threw it. A rose by you deserves to be kept safe inside a book. Give me a rose too, please. 21. A few things are worthless. Sumit is one of those. God knows, what will happen of him? 22. What is inside your mind, brother? My sister asked about you. She asked, ‘who is this cartoon?’ What are you thinking? Are you mad? 23. All this is a waste of time. Leave him alone. 24. This whole class is a drama and he is the best guy in the class. He is great, okay. You people think you are very smart. Haha. Go home.


25. Loser. 26. I hate this guy. 27. Asshole. 28. I can’t believe this is happening. Then the teacher called a student to read all the comments out aloud. Not that bad, Sumit thought. He went to his seat at the back of the class and class remained discussing all the comments. Everyone is hoping for a rain today because black and white clouds on the sky were moving slowly. Every student was looking outside the windows to feel the climate except one. One with stains on his shirt and a page that filled with 26 comments in the pocket near his heart. What a memorable day.
