Books Text books Journals Periodicals Newspapers

W

hat can I copy from? CLNZ Print License allows you to copy and scan from: • Books • Text books • Journals • Periodicals • Newspapers

2

Y

our CLNZ Print License allows you to:

• Make multiple copies of up to 10% or one chapter from a book (whichever is the greater). • Copy artistic works (such as illustrations) as published in a book. • Upload scanned material to a password protected system, to share with students. For a full list of benefits, go to www.copyright.co.nz

R

ules of thumb for digital and electronic copying: 1 You must own an original of the material you are copying from. 2 You can share the material with students through a password protected system. 3 The material can not be made available on a publicly accessible website.

3

Internet sheet music Artwork

W

hat doesn’t a CLNZ Print License cover? There are a few things your license doesn’t cover: • Material downloaded from the Internet. • Printed sheet music (music that is not contained within a book). • Stand alone artwork. Contact us on 0800 480 271 and we will help you gain permission for these.

4

D

ata Collection From time to time we need to capture details about what material is being copied. The purpose of the data collection is so we can reimburse the creators of the material being copied (who are often teachers themselves). Schools and Private Training Establishments are statistically selected to participate.

5

H

ow does CLNZ Data Collection Process work? If you are selected to participate in a data collection, you will be given plenty of notice. The process is simple: 1 We will come in and brief you on the ins and outs. 2 A record form will be placed by the appropriate photocopier(s). 3 During the eight week data collection period, you will need to record details of the published material being copied. *The data collection process and period can vary. If a course book is available we may request a copy of this. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected]
