2-Training activity (Given):
Training the fellows on the different diagnostic tools in pediatric cardiology.
Training the fellows from Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and other Arab countries on the Echocardiography and cardiac catheterization, Specialized Pediatric Hospital, Cairo University. This training was achieved by the demonstration and the interpretation of echocardiography for an average of 25 cases/ week, performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization for 3 cases weekly.
Training the fellows upon the clinical judgment for proper preoperative assessment of cardiac cases in pediatric age.
Training the fellows upon the method and presentation of the cases for experts routinely visiting the pediatric cardiology division every 3 to 6months.
Training the residents and fellows on the postoperative cardiothoracic care in intensive and intermediate care through the daily clinical rounds for 2 weeks which was held every 2months. This training was started from 2002 as I am Consultant of pediatric cardiology in Postoperative Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit in Specialized Pediatric Hospital, Cairo University and Medical Insurance for Students, Health ministry of Egypt. This training was accomplished through the attendance of regular meeting of morbidity and mortality of intensive care unit.
Training the fellows, assistant-lecturers in Pediatric Postoperative Cardiac Outpatient Clinic through weekly meeting. Being the chief of this Out-Patient Clinic in Specialized Pediatric Hospital, Cairo University since 2005 this training was started .
Interpretation and hand-on training the fellows, assistant-lecturers and lecturers in echocardiography laboratory through weekly meeting. Being the chief of Pediatric Echocardiography Laboratory in Specialized Pediatric Hospital, Cairo University since 2010, this training was accomplished through the attendance of biweekly meeting of the unit.
