Curriculum vitae Johannes HonsigHonsig-Erlenburg Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg was born on 13 October 1962 in Salzburg. He is a lawyer specializing in commercial law. Since 2006 he has been president of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation, since 2009 a member of the board of the Salzburg Biennial, and since 2010 executive board member of the Herbert von Karajan Foundation, Salzburg Easter Festival. From an early age Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg was introduced to music by his parents Elisabeth (Countess von Korff Schmising-Kerssenbrock) and Dr. Franz Honsig-Erlenburg. While still at school Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg was able to study music at the Mozarteum Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (now a university), first of all studying piano, then organ as a concert instrument. Honsig-Erlenburg took his final examinations at the academic grammar school in Salzburg in 1980 and went on to study law at the ParisLodron University. While studying law Honsig-Erlenburg decided to end his music studies at the Mozarteum; in 1984 he graduated as a doctor of law. After completing his military service Honsig-Erlenburg began to train as a lawyer in Salzburg and Vienna. He successfully passed the final law examinations in 1990 and was registered as an independent lawyer. At present Honsig-Erlenburg is a partner in the office of Honsig & Küenburg Commercial Lawyers. Honsig-Erlenburg has been a member of the board of governors of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation since the early 1990s; since 2006 he has been its president. Honsig-Erlenburg has made a considerable contribution to the re-organization of the Mozarteum Foundation since the mid-1990s. During his term as president Honsig-Erlenburg has been responsible for commissioning the building of the new concert organ in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum (Propter Homines organ), for successfully acquiring private donors and corporate sponsors, as well as intensively expanding the international activity of the Mozarteum Foundation. Honsig-Erlenburg is particularly committed to the “Cuba Project” which he launched and which is especially concerned with setting up the first Cuban youth orchestra. The project aims to ensure high quality musical training, in particular for music of the Viennese Classical period, as well as the analysis of serious Cuban music (Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil del Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana). Since 2009 Honsig-Erlenburg has been a member of the board of the Salzburg Biennial Festival of Contemporary Music, and since 2010, following the re-organization of the Salzburg Easter Festival, an executive board member of the Herbert von Karajan Foundation, Salzburg Easter Festival. Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg is the father of three children; his wife in second marriage is Anna Avellaneda. Professional career 1989 – 1996: junior partner in the Society Dr. Erich Meusburger (founded in 1960); 1996 – 2000: building up of the Society Honsig-Erlenburg, graduation as an expert in European law in 2000; merger with the Society Dr. Meinrad Küenburg and foundation of the office Honsig & Küenburg 2000 to 2011 – development of the Society Honsig & Küenburg, internationalization of the agency, activity as a lecturer in particular in the field of the Austrian Private Foundation, member of boards and supervisory boards.
