JOB VACANCY Job Title: Country Director – Angola Context: Citizens Development Corps (CDC), a U.S. non-profit organization engaged in international private sector/economic development is seeking a Country Director to be based in Portuguese-speaking Africa to manage a Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) development program and serve as CDC’s representative on the ground. The main goal of the program is to build the capacity of local businesses as well as the business support industry to participate more actively in the oil industry supply chain in order to create jobs, promote skills transfer, and achieve locallybased economic growth. The program provides sector-specific training, consulting, and business support services as well as access to procurement opportunities in the oil sector. A local office coordinates all in-country program activities.

Job Purpose: The Country Director serves as the key representative of the program and interacts with executives from the State oil company, multinational oil companies, small and medium businesses, and business support organizations. The programme has four key purposes: Building the capacity of local businesses as well as the business support industry to participate more actively in the oil industry supply chain in order to create local jobs. Building the capacity of local staff by actively creating opportunities for them to undertake all aspects of the development and delivery of all services.

Promoting locally-based economic growth.

Experience

•

15+ years of successful experience in international program management with 5+ years in an executive role

•

Experience managing a sustainable business support center, incubator, or consulting company in a developing country especially in Africa preferred

•

A track record of running a financially sustainable business centre entity/ program

Supervisory/ management experience of expatriate and local staff

Knowledge & Qualifications Intimate knowledge of the latest trends and best-practices in the fields of business centre and/or related fields Successful experience developing value chains and business linkages Economic Development program M&E Quality management/ international standards Health and safety standard management
