Good evening and welcome to Plantation Restaurant! Alila Ubud’s signature Plantation Restaurant is inspired by the culinary wealth of Bali’s rice terraces, farms and seas. Our innovative menu presents a unique twist on traditional fine dining inspired by fresh sustainably produced local ingredients. With Indonesian’s plentiful fruits, vegetables and herbs as well as meats, poultry and fish, it seemed only natural to create a menu celebrating the Archipelago’s abundance. Executive Chef Eelke Plasmeijer brings together a strong commitment to the use of local ingredients with his classical kitchen training in Holland. Chef Eelke believes that thoughtful travellers are prepared to be adventurous diners. So prepare for an adventure! Our distinctive menu offers locally sourced delicacies such as rabbit, mackerel, beef, clams, king prawns, coffee, chocolate and organic Balinese pig prepared with organic vegetables and herbs grown on the cool slopes of nearby Mount Batur. You may choose from our Authentic Balinese or Seasonal menu. For those looking for a culinary adventure we recommend our two tasting menus. The Seasonal tasting menu uses traditional French cooking techniques with 100% locally sourced produce. The Authentic Ubud tasting menu is based on traditional recipes & produce from Ubud and the surrounding villages. Even many of our cocktails are sourced in Bali. Try the best quality arak, distilled from Bali’s rice and infused with local seasonal herbs and spices such as lemon grass, vanilla, coffee, cinnamon and other flavourings. Seasonal Cuisine For this menu, only the freshest ingredients are used, all locally sourced and organically grown where possible, prepared with precision, passion and care using Western-cooking techniques. The dishes are all served in tasting portions for you to savor the balance of local ingredients, flavours and textures in a gourmet dining experience.
