Weekend treatment of sub arachnoid haemorrhage 1. Whether your neurosurgery unit undertakes coiling of patients with a sub arachnoid haemorrage out of normal hours (i.e after 5.30 pm) or at the weekend)? Patients are treated on an ad hoc basis out of normal working hours but there is no formally agreed out of hours interventional neuroradiology service and therefore most patients will wait to have coiling following Sub arachnoid haemorrage (SAH)on the earliest in-hours list. 2. If you do not, is there a system to enable patients to be transferred from your NHS Trust to a hospital that does undertake weekend/ out of hours coiling of a sub arachnoid haemorrage patients? There are no units in London who provide a routine out-of-hours provision for coiling of SAH patients and therefore patients are not transferred elsewhere. 3. If there is no such system at present, are there plans to create such a system in the future? We are currently considering further the possibility of providing a 12 hour Monday-Sunday interventional neuroradiology service.
