This can be the start of a very exciting career or rewarding hobby in floristry. The Floristry Diploma Correspondence Home Study Course offers you a proven method of home study for you to learn all aspects of floristry and floral design. No previous knowledge of floristry is needed. Flower arranging is easy once you have learned the basic rules. Every florist was once a beginner. By putting in two to three hours per week you will soon be creating beautiful floral designs the professional way. You will be delighted at the results you will achieve right from the very first lesson. We have developed a unique teaching method where you need no previous knowledge in floristry. Each lesson is set out in simple, every day language with easy to follow step-by-step illustrated instructions with a colour photo of the completed arrangement. For each lesson you will have a pattern to follow with measurements on how long to cut each stem and exactly where to position each one. You will have access to online videos showing each practical lesson being made. The course is specially designed so that the beginner can follow it with ease, but anyone considering a career or already involved in floristry will find it extremely beneficial in furthering their knowledge. You will learn a lot in a short time and you will find the course is interesting, creative and fun.

You Work At Your Own Pace One of the benefits of the Floristry Correspondence Course is you can work at your own pace, in the comfort of your own home at whatever time is most convenient for you. You have up to 18 months to complete the full Floristry Course comprising of three terms. However many of our students complete the course in much less time than this, in six - twelve months.

No Previous Experience Needed You need absolutely no previous experience in flower arranging. We have students in Australia, USA, Europe, UK, Asia and many other countries around the world. Age and standard of education are not important. Our students are from all walks of life and range from 16-80 years of age.

All Materials Supplied We provide all materials for each term such as bowls, baskets, gift box, corsage and presentation box, floral foam, bases, ribbons, cellophane, bouquet holders, cards, wire and floral tape. Ample materials are provided to complete each lesson successfully. Fresh flowers are not included with the materials as you would appreciate, these would not last. You do not have to use expensive flowers for your lessons. Flowers such as carnations or chrysanthemums are ideal to use when you are learning. These flowers last well and are easy to handle - the positioning is the important thing. Flowers that are in season are suitable and you can often buy them at a weekend market at a low price. Many types of flowers and foliage that grow in the garden can also be used for your lessons. If desired silk flowers can be used for each lesson and will enable you to have a permanent sample of each design. These flowers may be purchased from our price list which is included with the First Term materials.

Floristry Correspondence Diploma Course The Floristry Correspondence Diploma Course consists of three terms. Each term has ten practical lessons. (30 PRACTICAL LESSONS IN ALL)

Floristry Instruction Manual In each term you will receive a floristry manual which is most informative. The first term manual has over 260 pages with easy to follow step-by-step instructions for each lesson. Each manual contains hundreds of floristry and floral design tips and techniques with photos and illustrations. In addition to the lessons there are instructions on how to create many other unique floral designs. You will find each floristry manual will be a valuable reference guide during and after you have completed the course.

Online Video Lessons Each practical lesson is online so you can see the actual lesson being made. You will see Fay Chamoun (the Principal) making up each design using a variety of different flowers and colours. It will be just like being in the floristry classroom looking over Fay's shoulder. Fay will be showing you each lesson in detail and you will learn the basic rules of balance and proportion in flower arranging You will see wiring and taping, making ribbon bows, positioning flowers and foliage and finishing touches for each design. One of the advantages is you can watch the video at your own convenience, pause the video at any time and go back to watch any step again. Your student password will be included with your course materials. The online video lessons are only for students enrolled in the course.

LISTED BELOW ARE THE TEN PRACTIAL LESSONS IN THE THIRD TERM Lesson No. 21 - Posy Bowl. This is an all round design and the flowers and foliage are arranged in water. This design is suitable for a centrepiece. Lesson No. 22 - Picture Card Arrangement. This is a card specially designed to display flowers. An oval cut out is in the centre of the card and the flowers are positioned to extend out through the front of the card. Lesson No. 23 - Gift Posy. How to make a hand tied posy of flowers surrounded with gathered cellophane. The posy is made holding it in one hand and the flowers and foliage added to criss cross spirally with the other hand. Lesson No. 24 - Cylinder of Flowers. You will learn how easy it is to make a cylinder of flowers. How to add ribbon for the finishing touch. Floristry Diploma

To receive your Floristry Diploma at the end of the Third Term you will be asked to submit photographs of your practical lessons along with your completed examination paper. A pass mark is 70 or more out of 100. Most people are nervous about the thought of an exam, but you don't need to be. By the time you reach this stage you will have completed the full course of thirty practical lessons and will have an excellent knowledge of floristry and floral designing. In the first and second terms we will send you a questionnaire sheet with multiple-choice answers. These questions are taken from your floristry manuals. You answer the questions and e-mail or post them back to us and we will mark them and return them to you. You can also e-mail or post photos of your lessons throughout the course and Fay Chamoun, the Principal will comment on your progress and offer helpful advice if needed. On successful completion your Diploma of Floristry and a letter of confirmation on our official letterhead will be posted to you. We all like to be recognized for our efforts. You can be very proud of this achievement. You can have your Diploma of Floristry framed and display it on the wall or in your own floristry presentation folder.

Terms and Conditions: The course materials are not to be sold, loaned, copied or used in any way by the person who is enrolled in the Floristry Correspondence course, unless permission is sought and granted in writing by the Principal.
