WORLD CLASS QUALITY Excellence comes from excellence: the 500X is produced at the renovated SATA plant in Melfi (Potenza), one of the world’s most efficient production sites and the first in Italy to receive Silver Level WCM (World Class Manufacturing) certification due to this method of international production cycle organisation. The plant at Melfi is an organisational model inspired by the principles of streamlined production that reduces the steps in the production chain, simplifying the assembly operations to bring the 500 family’s newest wonder into existence. 6

These two trim levels demonstrate the 500X’s more adventurous soul. This is ideal for those looking for the strong and distinctive appearance of a true Crossover, but who don’t accept compromise when adventure calls. The 500X Cross and Cross Plus are available with front wheel drive combined with the Traction+ system or 4-wheel drive. They are characterised by “off-road”-look bumpers with protective shields, specific “off-road” design alloy wheels, satin-chrome finished exterior details and roof rails.

TRANSMISSIONS

The 500X débuts with a class leading 9-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to its 20 different mappings, it features smoother gear changes and optimised fuel consumption when compared to a conventional automatic transmission. An exclusive in the world of compact crossovers.

The 9-speed automatic transmission is available in combination with the 2.0 MultiJet II 140 HP engine with 4x4: the superior torque handling and smooth delivery permits outstanding performance and complete comfort, with the exclusivity and safety of four-wheel drive. 14

TREME DRIVES

The 500X behaves like a larger crossover, thanks to its superior handling, stability and driving comfort, courtesy of the MacPherson independent rear suspension. What’s more, thanks to the availability of three different drive types, 4x2, 4x2 with Traction+ and 4x4, it offers the widest choice in its segment.

4x4 A particular feature of the 4x4 on the 500X is the adoption of a rear axle disconnection system that reduces energy wasted by only driving the front wheels when four-wheel drive operation is not required. Rear axle disconnection smoothly switches from two-wheel to four-wheel drive and ensures that torque is permanently managed without the driver having to intervene.

4x2 TRACTION+ The Traction+ system, combined with the 4x2 versions of the Cross and Cross Plus, is an electronic traction control system that uses the braking system to ensure optimal torque distribution between the front wheels, allowing the car to tackle low-grip surfaces.

CITING ENGINES The wide engine range of the 500X offers something for everyone: 1.6 E-torq 110 HP, 1.4 Turbo MultiAir II 140 HP, 1.6 MultiJet II 120 HP with 4x2 and 2.0 MultiJet II 140 HP with 4x4 and 9-speed automatic transmission. Using radar and video sensors to detect the speed of the vehicle in front in relation to the 500X, the system will advise the driver if they are approaching too fast and therefore there is a risk of collision. Should the driver not intervene, the system automatically activates braking to avoid the impact or mitigate its effects.

REAR CAMERA

Blind Spot Assist Monitors the presence of vehicles in ’blind spots’ and advises the driver through a light signal on the dorr mirrors. Includes a function that advises the driver, when reversing, if a vehicle is approaching from the side.

REAR PARKING SENSORS

Lane Assist Advises the driver when they change lane involuntarily (without using the indicators). A visual indication on the instrument panel is accompanied by greater resistance of the steering to the change in direction.
