HELL’S CORNER ● Publisher: Grand Central, a division of Hachette Book Group USA ● U.S. release: November 9, 2010 ● Foreign Sales: United Kingdom – Pan MacMillan; Netherlands – A.W. Bruna; Sweden- Bra Bocker; The Czech Republic- Mlada Fronta; Turkey—Pozitif ―The latest Camel Club novel is, as usual, skillfully constructed and very difficult to put down… Another winner…Since Baldacci‘s first novel, Absolute Power, appeared in 1996, he has owned a place on most best-seller lists. His latest Camel Club novel won‘t break the string.‖ – Booklist

―Overall, Hell’s Corner is an excellent read—and highly recommended.‖The New York Journal of Books SYNOPSIS John Carr, aka Oliver Stone—once the most skilled assassin his country ever had—stands in Lafayette Park in front of the White House, perhaps for the last time. The President has personally requested that Stone serve his country again on a high-risk covert mission. Though he‘s fought for decades to leave his past career behind, Stone has no choice but to say yes. But Stone‘s mission changes drastically before it even begins. It‘s the night of a State Dinner honoring the British Prime Minister. As he watches the Prime Minister‘s motorcade leave the White House that evening, a bomb is detonated in Lafayette Park, an apparent terrorist attack against both the President and the Prime Minister. It‘s in this chaotic aftermath that Stone takes on a new, more urgent assignment: find those responsible for the bombing. British MI-6 agent Mary Chapman becomes Stone‘s partner in the search for the unknown attackers. But their shadowy opponents are elusive, capable, increasingly lethal, and worst of all, it seems that the park bombing may just have been the opening salvo to their plan. With nowhere else to turn, Stone enlists the help of the only people he knows he can trust: the Camel Club. But that may be a big mistake. In the shadowy worlds of politics and intelligence, there is no one you can really trust. Nothing is what it seems to be. And Hell‘s Corner truly lives up to its name. This may be Oliver Stone and the Camel Club‘s last stand.

SYNOPSIS A mysterious high-profile homicide in the nation's capital collides with the dark side of national security in David Baldacci's new, heart-stopping thriller, True Blue. Mason "Mace" Perry was a firebrand cop on the D.C. police force until she was kidnapped and framed for a crime. She lost everything—her badge, her career, her freedom—and spent two years in prison. Now she's back on the outside and is focused on one mission: to be a cop once more. Her only shot to be a true blue again is to solve a major case on her own, and prove she has the right to wear the uniform. But even with her police chief sister on her side, she has to work in the shadows: a vindictive U.S. attorney is looking for any reason to send her back behind bars. Then Roy Kingman enters her life. Roy Kingman is a young lawyer who aided the poor until he took a high-paying job at a law firm in Washington. Mace and Roy meet after he discovers the dead body of a female partner at the firm. Their investigation into the lawyer's death reveals surprising secrets from both the private and public world of the nation's capital, and what began as a fairly routine homicide investigation takes a terrifying and unexpected turn into something complex, diabolical, and possibly lethal.

But the real joys of the book are around its‘ characters, especially Pike, who- unlike Reacher- is all too human, achingly prone to making mistakes.‖- Entertainment Weekly SYNOPSIS Five years ago, Dru Rayne and her uncle fled from Louisiana to Los Angeles after Hurricane Katrina hit, but now they face a different kind of danger. A neighborhood protection gang savagely beats Dru‘s uncle, but Pike witnesses it and offers his own brand of protection. Oddly enough, neither of them seems to want it—and neither do the federal agents mysteriously watching their storefront, men who appear quite willing to let the gang have its way. None of that deters Pike—there‘s something about Dru that touches him and he won‘t back away, whether she wants his help or not—but as the level of violence escalates, and Pike himself becomes a target, he and Elvis Cole begin to discover some things. Dru and her uncle are not who they seem, and everything Pike thought he knew about them, their relationship to the gang, and the reasons they fled New Orleans—it‘s all been lies. A vengeful and murderous force is catching up to them . . . and it‘s perfectly happy to sweep Pike and Cole up in its wake. Thrilling, emotional, intense, with some of the best characters and well-crafted writing in all of crime fiction, The Sentry is Crais’s most unforgettable novel yet

From the New York Times-bestselling author who sets the standard for intense, powerful crime-writing comes a blistering thriller featuring Joe Pike and Elvis Cole. SYNOPSIS The Watchman put Joe Pike, Elvis Cole's strong, taciturn partner, front and center, and not only won Robert Crais new audiences but remarkable reviews. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel said "Robert Crais elevates crime fiction" and now with The First Rule he does it again. The organized criminal gangs of the former Soviet Union are bound by what they call the thieves' code. The first rule is this: A thief must forsake his mother, father, brothers, and sisters. He must have no family-no wife, no children. We are his family. If any of the rules are broken, it is punishable by death. Frank Meyer had the American dream-until the day a professional crew invaded his home and murdered everyone inside. The only thing out of the ordinary about Meyer was that- before the family and the business and the normal life-a younger Frank Meyer had worked as a professional mercenary, with a man named Joe Pike. The police think Meyer was hiding something very bad, but Pike does not. With the help of Cole, he sets out on a hunt of his own-an investigation that quickly entangles them both in a web of ancient grudges, blood ties, blackmail, vengeance, double crosses, and cutthroat criminality, and at the heart of it, an act so terrible even Pike and Cole have no way to measure it. Sometimes, the past is never dead. It's not even past.

ROBERT CRAIS is the 2006 reciepient of the Ross Macdonald Literary Award. He is the author of many New York Times bestsellers, most recently Chasing Darkness, The Watchman, and The Last Detective.

SHIRA NAYMAN THE LISTENER ● Publisher: Scribner ● U.S. release: December 29, 2009 ● Right available: Translation -- world "The Listener explores with great subtlety and perceptiveness the issues of trauma and guilt, illustrating the complexity of the way in which a mind that has experienced horrors -- whether as perpetrator or victim -- may create elaborate defenses that are paradoxically selfdestructive. Combining a psychologist's insight with the skill of a gifted novelist, Shira Nayman dramatizes brilliantly the futility of the belief that there is any absolute point of objectivity from which the most horrific experiences may be examined." -- Charles Palliser, author of The Quincunx and The Unburied SYNOPSIS THE LISTENER takes place shortly after World War II in a mental institution in upstate New York. It is written from the point of view of a psychiatrist who encounters a patient recently admitted for what used to be known as "shell shock." In the course of his treatment, Bertram seems to change his story over and over - one session he is lucid and charming - and the next he is paranoid, thinking his brother, a German soldier, is determined to find him and murder him. But is there really a brother at all? Is Bertram sane or psychopathic? When the doctor discovers that Bertram is having a clandestine affair with the head nurse, even more mysteries are revealed, more questions must be asked. What is Matilda, the nurse concealing? And as the doctor's own nefarious past is exposed, the reader wonders just who is telling the truth? This is a haunting and intelligent literary novel all wrapped up in a suspense story with an ending that will surprise every reader. SHIRA NAYMAN is a clinical psychologist and makes her home in Brooklyn, New York. She is the recipient of three grants from the Australia Council for the Arts Literature Board. Her short story collection Awake in the Dark was published by Scribner in 2006, and was featured in the fiction issue of The Atlantic Monthly.
