The CCNA exam is one of the most popular IT certifications with an estimated 105,000 people taking the exam every year. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA®) validates the ability to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot medium-size route and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. Last updated in 2007, this long anticipated revision represents some significant changes to the old exam. With the existing exam retiring in September 2013 the need for updated materials will be high as you will be eager to start planning your new courses.

Changes to the new CCNA exam New focus on Routing & Switching as concentration CCNA has evolved from foundation to concentration and is being renamed CCNA Routing and Switching. This means that the CCENT exam is now the base exam, and what used to be just CCNA is now CCNA Routing and Switching. The new CCNA Routing and Switching exams are now along the same lines of Voice, Security, and Wireless, meaning it is now considered a concentration instead of the prerequisite.
