SET 1 Last weeh the residents of Taman Permata got together to clean up their neighboirrhood playground. They wanted to repair the broken fences and benches. The residents also wanted to clean up the playground which wan overgrown with weeds.
The residents got into groups and decided their tasks. The first group was headed by Mr. Dass who brought along his tools to repair the broken fences around the playground area. Mr. Dass and his teammates repaired the fences and painted it a bright and cheerful red. The second group's leader Mr. Chong used a lavrmmower to mow the grass. His teammate used rakes to collect the grass and put it in a pile near the roadside. The other teams cleaned the swings, see-saws and slides as well.
Finally, after their hard worh the playground was ready to used by the neighbourhood's children. The parents who helped to clean up the playground felt happy that their children could play in a clean and beautiful playground.
SET 2
Last Saturday was our shool's annual sports day. The field was beautifully decorated with colourful flags and buntings. Tents were also set up for the participants and the guests. By 7.30a.m, there was a huge crowd at the field. Most of them were parents who came to water the event.
At 10.00 a.m, the participants were called up to the field to prepare for their events. The athletes did some warm-up exercise before they took part in the events. The spectators were excited as the events were about to begin. The athletes were nervous while waiting for the gun to go off. They ran as fast as they could to reach the finishing line. The athlete representing Blue House won the events. The winners of the events were called to the stage to receive their trophies. The winners were happy to receive their prizes. They had done their best and were proud to represent their sports houses. The sports days was surely a memorable event.
SET
Aishah and Nisha are twin sisters who study at the same school. Both of them are avid readers and spend most of their free time reading at the school library. One day Aishah went to a bookshop to buy some stort books. There she saw a poster of a Story-Telling Competition. Aishah was excited because she had always wanted to complete in a story-tellirtg competition. She a wickly took a couple of eatry forms and rushed home to tell he sister Nisha aboutthe competition. When Aishah told Nisha about the competition, Nisha also wanted to join in. Both girls signed up for the competition which will take place in two weeks time. Aishah and Nisha went to the library to pick out some interesting story books to practice their story-telling skills. Both of them spend their weekend practicing. On the day of the competition, Aishah and Nisha were well-prepared and confident. They were both good story - teller and both had good stories to
tell. The audience were spell-bound listening to their stories. Their school headmaster picked both sisters as winners of the competition. Aishah and Nisha were proud to receive their prizes from their headmaster.
SET 3
Halim, Rajan and Peter are three good friends who study at S.K. Taman Cuepacs. They love ride their bicycles around their residents area every evening. Last week, on a Saturday,the three friends decided to go for a ride. The boys are naughg, so they decided to race each other on the road. The boys did not put much thought in their actions and began racing each other at break neck speed. Halim was riding his bicycle as fast as he could in order to win the race. Unfortunately, while racing Halim did not see a car coming towards him, Halim got a shock when he saw the car and could not control his bicycles. Halim knocked into the middle of the car and was flung of his bicycles. He fell on the road and injured himself badly. Rajan and Peter who saw the accident were shocke. They quickly called Halim's father to explain what had happened. Halim's father rushed to the scene as fast as he could. He took Halim to the hospital. Halim broke his leg and an arm. He was in a terrible pain and had to rest at home for a month. Halim regretted his action and vowed never to do it again.
