Abstract : Tallon’s model has been used for determining the volumes and thermal expansion coefficient for NaCl crystal upto a pressure of 50 kbar and in the temperature range of 300–773 K. The concept of the modified Gruneisen parameter has been adopted to obtain equation of state. The results obtained are found to present close agreement with the available experimental data. Keywords
