Eng. Leonardo Nibbi, presently Researcher at the Department of Energy Engineering “S.Stecco”, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Florence, took part in several EU R&D and dissemination projects, mainly in the field of Biomass: “Opportunities for Biomass to Energy Projects an La Rioja (Spain) and Tuscany (Italy)” ALTENER PILOT PROJECTS 1998 ; “BIOSIT GIS-based planning tool for greenhouse gases emission reduction through biomass exploitation” - LIFEEnvironment demonstration projects; “BIOSOUTH - Techno-economical assessment of the production and use of biofuels for heating and cooling applications in South Europe”; ThermalNet- the new European Network for biomass pyrolysis, gasification and combustion”; COMBIO: a new competitive liquid biofuel for heating. His experience in the fields of biomass since 1999 is mainly devoted to the logistic of the biomass to energy chain, with particular attention to the use of GIS tools, and to biofuels and their application in general.
