We are expecting with great encouragement the 1st European Shito Ryu Karate Federation Championships which is to be held in June, 2013 in Nové Zámky, Slovakia. The Slovak Shito Ryu Association is an organization which has been organizing Slovak Shito Ryu Open tournaments for several years. Our Association cooperates sport activities with Slovak Karate Union and competitors from our style are on top level in Kata competition in Slovakia. I, as an inhabitant of Nové Zámky welcome all the participants, delegates, relatives and Shito Ryu Karate friends who will come to our town and I hope all of them will enjoy our town and the 1 st European Shito Ryu Karate Championships. Enjoy these days of karate sport in our facilities which we will place at your disposal and which we hope will fulfill your expectations. The town of Nové Zámky was mentioned for the first time in 1545 as a defense stronghold against Turkish raids. The original rectangular layout was with four auricle bastions. Several years later a new castle was build on the opposite bank of the river Nitra – the present name of the town is derived from the castle. The castle known also as Castrum Novum was built in the regular hexagonal star-like layout. It had six multifloor bastions from which only the names have been preserved – Žerotin´s, Fridrich´s, Caesar’s, Czech, Ernest´s, and Forgach´s. In the dramatic struggle between the Habsburgs and Turks the castle got into hand of Turks in 1663 who cruelly ruled there until 1685, when the territory of the town was conquered back by the army of Carl of Lotharingie. In 1691 Esztergom Archbishop Gyorgy Szécsényi issued the document granting town´s and other important privileges to Nove Zámky. Only a few monuments and buildings of this history have been preserved, though, as most of them were destroyed during the 2nd World War between 1944 and 1945 due to three bomb-attacks. After the 2nd World War the town was newly rebuilt. But in spite of it in the district museum Roman inscription plates and other documents about the first settlements in the town can be found.

Insurance: It is recommended that all participants must affect their own medical insurance and personal trip insurance. The organizers are taking no liability for these concepts. The competitors start on their own risk. The Chiefs of the delegations have to sign the enclosed terms of responsibility sheet and return it by March 30 th 2013.
Conditions of participation: Championships is open for ESHRKF member and nonmember Federations or Groups. Federation, Group who intend to take part at the 1 st ESHRKF Championships must pay 100€ Registration surety fee. Single club are not allowed to participate. In case that Federation or Group intend to be regular member of ESHRKF will not pay Registration surety fee but will pay 200€ of Annual membership fee for year 2013. System: ESHRKF Competition Rules will be applied. For opening of Kumite weight or Kata individual category is required to be registered minimum of six (6) competitors. If there is less then six competitors, the competitors may start (in Kata) in older age category or (in Kumite) in higher weight category. Full repechage for two third places will be done.
Referees: Referees with International, Style & National qualification are welcome. Participating Referees should attend pre Championships briefing and hand over their Karate Passport with confirmation of an allotted license. After briefing Referees will seat and pass theoretical examination from ESHRKF competition rules. At the briefing Referee commission will appoint Match area Controller, Appeal jury, deploy Referee and Judges to tatami. Federations or Groups have obligation to present minimum one (1) and maximum Three (3) Referees for the Championship. Federations or Groups, who will not present a Referee will by penalized by fine of 70€.
