1. Start AutoCAD if it is not already started. 2. Open the ex16-7 drawing file you created in Chapter 16 and save the file as ex20-1. 3. Use the PLINE tool to trace the outer perimeter of the house. Trace a line over the inside garage wall. 4. Lock the A-AREA layer. 5. The house is built using 2 × 6 wood construction. Use the OFFSET tool to offset the outside perimeter into the building 6″. 6. Clean up the wall intersections at the garage area. Double-check the outside lengths. 7. Save your work. 8. Keep AutoCAD open for the next exercise, or exit AutoCAD if necessary.
