Start AutoCAD if it is not already started. Open the ex20-9 drawing file you created in Chapter 20. Draw section cutting-plane lines similar to those shown in Figure 25-16. Save the drawing as ex25-1a. Close the drawing. Start a new drawing using your Arch-Template.dwt template or the Arch-Template.dwt template available from the student Web site. Set the X-FLOOR PLAN layer current. Xref in ex25-1a using the Overlay option and the absolute coordinates 0,0 for the insertion point. Freeze any xref dimension and note layers as needed. Create a viewport layout with the Three: Above standard viewport layout. In the upper viewport, pan the floor plan to the side. In the lower-left viewport, perform a Zoom Extents. In the lower-right viewport, zoom into the horizontal section cutting-plane line. In the largest viewport, draw the subfloor and plate lines for the three sections. Use the S-FLOOR & PLATE layer. Refer to the elevations in Chapter 24 for the height of the main floor. Your drawing should look similar to the one shown in the figure. Save the drawing as ex25-1b. Keep AutoCAD open for the next exercise, or exit AutoCAD if necessary.
