1. Start AutoCAD if it is not already started. 2. Open the ex26-2 drawing file you created in Chapter 26. 3. Open DesignCenter. Drag and drop the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC plan layers from your Architectural-US template into the drawing. If you have not yet completed the Chapter 27 template development activity, do so now. 4. Freeze the framing, dimensions, notes, and symbol tag layers. 5. Set the M-ELEC layer current. 6. Create some electrical symbol blocks and add them to the plan. Refer to Figure 27-3 for types of electrical symbols. 7. Use the guidelines for placement of the blocks as described earlier in this chapter. 8. Add electrical circuit paths from the switches to the lights they are controlling. 9. Your drawing should look similar to the figure. 10. Save the drawing as ex27-1. 11. Keep AutoCAD open for the next exercise, or exit AutoCAD if necessary.
