Day 1: Hervey Bay to Fraser Island Travel from Hervey Bay to River Heads for the 8:30am barge crossing to the Wanggoolba Creek landing on Fraser Island. On arrival drive along the Seventy Five Mile Beach ocean highway and journey to Fraser’s ancient rainforests and giant King ferns at Wanggoolba Creek and Central Station.

Day 1: Hervey Bay, Central Station to Kingfisher Bay Resort Embark on three days of fun and adventure for 18 to 35s on the world’s largest sand island. First stop is beautiful Basin Lake where freshwater turtles can be spotted. Walk along the banks of Wanggoolba Creek and take in the lush green rainforest and rare King ferns. Enjoy a refreshing afternoon swim at Lake McKenzie before heading back to Kingfisher Bay Resort. Spend the next two nights at the Wilderness Lodge, Kingfisher Bay Resort. (LD)

Enjoy a dip in the clear blue waters of Lake McKenzie, the island’s most photographed location. Trek over Hammerstone Sandblow and swim in emerald-green Lake Wabby. Overnight at Eurong Beach Resort. (LD) Day 2: Eli Creek via Indian Head to Hervey Bay Enjoy breakfast before setting off to explore Eli Creek. After a quick swim in the shallow waters, travel to The Pinnacles and the Coloured Sands and learn the legend of their creation.

Spend time at The Pinnacles and the Coloured Sands before travelling to Indian Head. Climb Indian Head and enjoy magnificent views. Journey along Seventy Five Mile Beach before returning to Noosa. (BL)

Climb Indian Head for the magnificent views of the great sand dunes extending north. The headland is also a great vantage point for viewing Fraser’s marine life swimming by in the water below. Reboard the barge for the return trip to River Heads. (BL)

Stop at Eli Creek and float down this fast-flowing freshwater creek which pours out 80 megalitres of water daily to the seaside. Stop at one of Fraser Island’s iconic photo stops, Maheno Shipwreck. Continue on to The Pinnacles and Coloured Sands and marvel at these vibrant sand cliffs. Climb to the top of Indian Head and take in the magnificent island and ocean views. In the afternoon relax in the bubbling Champagne Pools. (BLD) Day 3: Lake Wabby, Eurong Beach to Hervey Bay After breakfast, drive to Lake Wabby and walk through cool rainforest and swim in the emerald green water. Minimum Age and licence reQuirements The minimum age for drivers of vehicle groups X, A, B, C and D is 21 years. Drivers aged 21 to 24 years inclusive are required to pay a $27.50 per day surcharge, which is payable directly to Avis at the time of rental. For all other vehicle groups, the minimum age for drivers is 25 years. Drivers must hold an open licence and have held that licence for at least 12 months.
