Free Pattern: Simple Chunky Slippers I love these cozy quick knit slippers that can be knit up in a couple hours. I decided to double up my basic yarn to give them some nice texture and extra warmth. You can use any colour of yarn combined with a contrast crocheted edge for some pizazz. Great for gifts if you are short on time! Enjoy! MATERIALS Size 9-10 Ladies Yarn: Bernet Big Value, Acrylic. Main Colour: Hot Pink. Contrast Colour: Deep Purple.

Needle Size: Four #8 double pointed needles. Large Crochet Hook Darning Needle to sew in loose ends.

Double up on your yarn. I usually pull one thread from the outside and one from the inside. You could use two balls. Same or different colours would do.

Cast on 12 stitches. Divide evenly onto 3 needles. Round 1: Knit around. Round 2: *K1, K1 f & b. Repeat from * to end of row. 18 sts. Round 3: Knit around. Round 4: *K2, K1 f & b. Repeat from * to end of row. 24 sts. Round 5: Knit around. Round 6: K1, P1 ribbing to 6” from toe opening. Ankle Opening: Begin knitting flat. Work back and forth in 1 x 1 ribbing. After third row transfer onto one needle. Continue 1 x 1 Ribbing until piece measures 4½” from instep. Total length 10½”. Finishing: Divide 12 sts onto two needles each. Use the three needle bind off method to close heel. Sew together toe opening. Weave all loose ends. Crochet around opening with any colour choice. Three Needle Bind Off: ◉ Divide stitches equally on two needles. Place the two needles with the stitches on them one on top of the other. The needle you would work with next if you were still knitting in the round is on the top. You can work with right sides out or right sides in. The side facing out is the side this bind off will show. The third (working) needle can be gauged up two sizes. ◉ Slide your empty (working) needle (the third needle that gives the bind off its name) through the first stitch on the front needle, then the first stitch on the back needle, both as if to knit. ◉ Knit the stitch through both of these stitches. Now there is one stitch on the working needle and one fewer stitch on each of the other two needles. ◉ Repeat this again. Use the working needle to knit the first stitch on both needles into one stitch. ◉ Pass the first stitch on the working needle over the second stitch. This is just as in a standard bind off. ◉ Continue in this manner. Finish with a single loop remaining on the third needle, with no loops on the other needles. ◉ Cut the yarn. Pull the yarn through the final loop. Pull tight and you're done!

You're all done, enjoy!
