Instructional Strategy

Gallery Walk A Gallery Walk allows learners to share the work done by groups without formal presentations. It also allows participants to refine and enrich their ideas by comparing their conclusions with those of other groups.

Directions: Based on information presented in a lecture, article, or other format, participants will work in small groups to discuss an issue, problem, or question. Ideas generated by each group are recorded on chart paper. As the groups conclude their work, charts are posted around the room. When all are finished, quiet music is played while learners silently walk around the room, reading and taking notes from the ideas of others. Depending on group size, at least 5-10 minutes should be allowed for the walk.
