GATEWAY EAST Welcome to Gateway East at East Carolina University. Gateway will be opening Fall of 2015 located on the top of College Hill. The building is the closest residence hall to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and Minges Coliseum. Gateway East will have 338 residents whom will be in one of six Living Learning Communities. The LLCs that reside in Gateway East include: Honors College, Education, Nursing, Residential scholars, Kinesiology, Chemistry/Physics, and Biology. Gateway will be the hub of the Living Learning Community (LLCs) programs as it was specifically designed with our LLCs in mind. LLCs were created to provide students with the opportunity to experience the transition to a larger university in smaller, more personal groups. They are designed to assist in the academic transition to university instruction, to support the student-faculty interaction beyond the classroom, and to encourage positive student connections within East Carolina University.
