A: After having been talking for a couple of days I invited her to my friend’s birthday celebration. We went to a lounge, danced, talked and had a great time. After that night I realized she was the one.

When did you know you were in love?

F: I realized I was in love after our first fight. I missed him so much...

his smile, his laughter and jokes, everything about him. A: In one occasion that we were upset with each other and didn’t talk for couple of days. I felt I had to do something to get her back because I needed her in my life.

How long did you date before you got married? A year and seven months.

Why Killian Palms Country Club?

When we first started looking for a venue, we knew for sure we did not want a hotel because we did not want tourist walking around in bathing suits. We then decided it would be a country club and we first visited Killian Palms Country Club. As we drove in, we already like it. We loved the landscaping and the privacy it offered. When we walked through the lobby area it looked elegant, which was one of my main wishes. And then we happened to see the ballroom on a day there was a wedding taking place. When the doors opened and we saw the ballroom we knew that was our place. It was exactly as we had envisioned our wedding: the lighting, the linens, the Chiavari chairs and the overall elegance. After that, everything else they showed us was just magical and perfect. The Gazebo was romantic, the cocktail area was big and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They also included many vendors in their packages, so it made our job easier. We are very happy we chose Killian Palms Country Club because they made our special day unforgettable.

Where and how did you meet?

Fabiola & Alan’s

Fabiola & Alan: We are actors and we went to a casting at the school we studied. Alan was still waiting his turn when I walked in. After brief eye contact we smiled at each other and he approach to me to make conversation.

What was your first impression of him/her? F: Her: When I saw him I fell in love with his eyes and the way they looked at me. I loved the how he conducted himself and his personality.

A: When I first saw her I thought she was beautiful. And from seeing her interact with other people, I noticed her great personality. When I got close to talk to her, I fell for her stunning eyes and beautiful smile.

What happened on the your first date?

F: Three days after we met he invited me out to a birthday party. We danced all night had so much fun! In a moment I was off guard, and without saying a word, he kissed me. It was totally unexpected —but I liked it!

The Proposal

My mom, little sister and niece were in town visiting me. He suggested we had dinner with my family and closest friends in one of our favorite restaurants. We had a great dinner, and when it was time for dessert, the waiter brought to our table a beautiful bouquet. That’s when I saw him get down on his knee. It was such an emotional moment. I realized that he had planned it so well to make it special — waited for my family to be in town, invited our friend and made sure they were all there to witness this moment. The funny thing is that I was so nervous when he put the ring on, that I couldn’t stop laughing, started kissing him immediately, and forgot to say “Yes!” It was honestly one of the happiest days of my life.

What is the one thing you will never forget about your Wedding Day?

F: The moment I walked down the aisle with my mother and I saw him waiting for me with tears in his eyes. A: When she walked in the church and when we exchanged vows.

What better place to have a Country-Style Wedding than South Florida! With it’s all-year-round perfect weather, beautiful gardens and glitzing sun it’s the ideal backdrop for your picture-perfect outdoor wedding.

Venue: Choose a venue that has a Gazebo and lots of green areas for your ceremony and cocktail area. The reception is best indoors so your guests are more comfortable during dinner and dancing.

Vendors: Most important when choosing your florist, venue, coordinator, and photographer make sure they are able to understand your theme and ideas so it reflects on all decors and in the final product – your wedding album.


The Sweet Station: Whether you choose to have a Candy or Dessert Station, be sure to add special details that will add to the CountryStyle décor. Using wood picture frames with antique-looking photos look beautiful.

Signs: Wood signs add a special and fun touch to the theme, and looks great in photos.

Signature Drink: Ask your venue or caterer to make a custom Signature Drink your guests can enjoy during cocktail. Making it your own, it’s personal and fun.

Flowers: After choosing your wedding color scheme discuss flower design with your florist. Lanterns, wood base or porcelain for the centerpieces adds a special touch for the country-style wedding.

Wedding Favors: Surprise your guests with taking home something they can enjoy, such as: Honey, a small Plant, Herbs or Wine.

Decorations & Accessories: Simple accessories make a big difference and set the mood for the event. Adding a Chaise Lounge and Chandelier not only looks beautiful, sweet and elegant, but the guests enjoy it and it’s a great photography prop.
