P2) ribbing until work from beg measures 2 ins [5 cm], ending with RS facing for next row and inc 3 sts evenly across last row. 85 sts. GAUGE: 16 sts and 21 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with smaller needles in stocking st.

Shape top: 1st row: *K10. K2tog. Rep from * to last st. K1. 78 sts. 2nd and alt rows: Purl. 3rd row: *K9. K2tog. Rep from * to last st. K1. 71 sts. 5th row: *K8. K2tog. Rep from * to last st.
