conducted and written by Farah Gron in 2011 on the Homeopathic treatment of ..... IVIG at age 7 produced improvement in handwriting and visual perception.
The following is an excerpt from a retrospective and statistical study conducted and written by Farah Gron in 2011 on the Homeopathic treatment of children with autism

The method in this study that I formulated is based on recognizing and addressing the event or intervention that occurred just before the onset of symptoms of autism. Once this layer is isolated, it can be addressed with homeopathic remedies. This layer has to be removed before addressing other layers such as a layer that could have been created in-utero. The goal of this study is to see if children who have this diagnosis improve in any areas of development such as social, communication and behavior when homeopathic remedies are selected based on my method. It is important to keep in mind that each child is evaluated individually and remedies are selected based on their unique way of presenting symptoms of Autism.

Inspiration for This Method Several years ago, in my part-time practice, I had two cases that responded well to treating the layer that was created before developmental regression set in: 

A child in 2007 that had speech and lost it. His speech was restored after he was given the remedy for the environmental intervention that happened to him prior to losing his speech. A child with ADHD that was cured with one remedy in the summer of 1998. Her mother reported that her daughter’s teachers could not believe this was the same child after she went back to school in the fall because she had gained her focus and concentration back and was performing well again as a student.

In the summer of 2009 I took over a large homeopathy practice which had a high percentage of children with autism. In that practice, the remedies for children on the spectrum were selected based on the approach that the presenting symptoms of the child were related to the particular emotional stressors experienced by the mother during pregnancy. This choice of remedy also included the consideration of the child’s constitution and other mental and emotional symptoms. These well-chosen remedies brought some relief of symptoms and some increased cognition in most cases, and the beginnings of speech in some cases. Initially, I persisted with this method in my practice. However, as the work on those cases continued I started to see that after a certain point it seemed as though there was a block and the remedies that covered the emotional symptoms alone were not as effective and did not produce the expected results. I remembered the cases from my part-time practice and wondered if the technique of removing the environmental burden first would unblock the progress toward health in these children. In 1

October of 2009 I began using a different method for children on the autism spectrum based on this theory. I decided to do a study to see if the new method would be successful when it was applied to a larger group of children; and if there was improvement, what was the level of change in various areas of development. I have detailed the results in the following study.

2

Statement of the problem What follows is a discussion that suggests autism is prevalent at an epidemic level in the US and other countries. What is autism? According to the Center for Disease Control: “Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) are a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. There are three different types of ASDs : 

Autistic Disorder (also called “classic” autism) This is what most people think of when hearing the word “autism.” People with autistic disorder usually have significant language delays, social and communication challenges, and unusual behaviors and interests. Many people with autistic disorder also have intellectual disability.

Asperger Syndrome People with Asperger syndrome usually have some milder symptoms of autistic disorder. They might have social challenges and unusual behaviors and interests. However, they typically do not have problems with language or intellectual disability.

Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS; also called “atypical autism”) People who meet some of the criteria for autistic disorder or Asperger syndrome, but not all, may be diagnosed with PDD-NOS. People with PDD-NOS usually have fewer and milder symptoms than those with autistic disorder. The symptoms might cause only social and communication challenges. “

What are some of the visible symptoms of ASD?            

Not respond to their name by 12 months Not point at objects to show interest (point at an airplane flying over) by 14 months Not play "pretend" games (pretend to "feed" a doll) by 18 months Avoid eye contact and want to be alone Have trouble understanding other people's feelings or talking about their own feelings Have delayed speech and language skills Repeat words or phrases over and over (echolalia) Give unrelated answers to questions Get upset by minor changes Have obsessive interests Flap their hands, rock their body, or spin in circles Have unusual reactions to the way things sound, smell, taste, look, or feel.”

How prevalent is autism? 3

“ASDs occur in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, but are four times more likely to occur in boys than in girls. CDC estimates that between about 1 in 80 and 1 in 240, with an average of 1 in 110, children in the United States have an ASD. “ What are the causes of autism? It is not the purpose of this paper to discuss all the possible factors that contribute to making children vulnerable to this disease. However, the general medical system’s opinion of what causes autism is shifting from genetic to environmental. “Researchers from Stanford University identified 192 pairs of twins from a statewide California registry of children who receive services for developmental disabilities. At least one twin was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, which researchers confirmed by examining and testing each child. The study included 54 pairs of identical twins (meaning they share all of the same genes) and 138 pairs of fraternal twins (who share half of their genes).” The study found that environmental factors play a much larger role than previously thought. 55 percent shared environmental causes, 7 percent other environmental and unknown causes, 38 percent genetic causes. Prior to this study, the cause of autism was commonly explained by genetic factors: 90 percent genetic factors and 10 percent environmental factors.

The following are the 24 cases in detail. Please note that remedy names have been changed to alphabetical letters. Remedy A in one case is not the same as Remedy A in another case. The duration of discussion for each case may vary. The starting time is when the first dose of the remedy chosen based on the new method was given. The end time is an arbitrary date of 7/31/2012. In most cases the children had already received other remedies not based on the new method.

Result No significant changes. No significant improvements. Demanding attention as usual. Got sick with flu after 3 days. See significant changes noted. More obedient and compliant, not talking loudly. New symptom of nightmares. Behavior is more manageable at school. Less frequent meltdowns. Reading is improving. More compliant at home. Doing homework with better focus. Mom says at her play dates she has “completely age appropriate behavior.” The second dose of remedy, she was “OUTSTANDING!” The teachers say “she looks like a different child now.” Behavior is stable. Doing well socially. Talkative, sweet, happy. Play dates no longer need supervision. Reading at grade level. She got a yellow card at school because she had talked too much at school. “When she was 4 or 5 years old, I could not even dream about it [referring to gains in language].” Doing great. Crying at camp and does not want to go home. Dyslexia test was passed with high marks. She no longer has dyslexia. Good behavior, good attitude, no complaints from school. She likes school and is edgy and cranky more often. She can read easily for 20 minutes. Last year after 5 minutes of reading she would have a meltdown. Responding well academically and socially. “When she takes her dose, she is exactly typical.” “She loves to read. She is reading a lot for pleasure. What a change from the same time last year!” Doing great. Mental capacity growing. Conscious of changes in her body. Her topics of choice for conversations have become “sophisticated” as well as her manners in discussing them. Mom forgets to give remedy because she acts just like her older typical sister. She understands social studies and history and is 6

interested in and good at those subjects. Mom says “her mental capacity is definitely continues to growing/changing… I was impressed how she described what she was learning there.” Her report card at the end of the year said that she is above grade level in reading. Her math level is average and needs improvement. Mom says “we are so happy.” Teachers have seen a huge progress from the beginning of the year with her maturity and how she handles herself.

Result Great attention, focus, and mood. Good days at school. Gets all of his work done at school. On a particularly good day at school, played with another child. Fantastic day at school and got all his work done. Getting better at language. More self directed. More helpful around the house. Then no other changes noted. Aggravation symptoms included higher anxiety. No emotional improvements noted. More interest in dogs, babies and small things. Decrease in appetite (positive change), decrease in carrying around his sticks. No social improvements. He is sweet, agreeable, less anxious, less argumentative. Focusing well. He stood up to a teacher in defense of his brother. Less focused on playing with video games. “It was like a cloud lifted.” Less violent, less sound sensitivity. More anxious and was not able to sleep at first. He started to do well after that. Getting work done. He made a friend. Able to focus. No more stuttering. More self aware. He is maturing. “My husband and I are continually surprised at how well we can see the effects of this particular remedy.” He plays with children at school. When mom went to pick him up he asked to stay longer. Mom said “this never happened before [where he wanted to stay at school longer].” He is doing so well that father asks mom “Damn, is this our kid?” Doing chores at home for mom. He felt secure to leave his sticks at home. Spontaneously told father “I guess I will leave my metal sticks at home. I can get them the minute I get home.” More affectionate and calmer. He had his first sleep-over. Speech therapist says “he is taking his conversations to a new level.” This remedy has pulled him out. He is doing very well at camp. Normally he would not have been happy at Scout camp. He reached over and rubbed mom’s back. This is 31

new to show affection. “Generally, he is easier to get along with.”

Result He seems more engaging and less upset and angry. He played well with kids at a party and he petted a small dog. Seems mellower. Saw some kids playing outside and he went to play with them. Upon his return he said “I went to them, we raced and I won.” There was a dog there and it was not an issue for him. 3/25/10 – 4/29/10 Better speech. More laid back than normal. More eye contact. Better at playing soccer. He has been pleasant and plays more cooperatively with other children. 4/30/10 – 8/4/10 Better eye contact. More descriptive when talking about his day at school. Overly affectionate. School give him “improvement cards” to indicate that he is behaving better. Started to express hurt feelings. Confident enough to swim in the deep end of pool. Getting better at recalling stories that he has read. He sang a solo at church. Did not want to leave camp. Received “green” cards at school for the entire month of May indicating his impulsivity is improving. 8/5/10 – 9/28/10 Talking too loudly at camp. Was not cooperative. Blames himself. Lack of stamina during sports. Insatiable appetite. 9/29/10 – 11/2/10 Good weeks. Sweet mood. Helpful with cleaning. Not complaining. Doing well at school – wrote a good book report. More coherent. Better focused during soccer practice. More confident. Eats more slowly. Starts doing pretend play by asking mom to bring his toy to a restaurant because his toy is hungry too. Teacher described him as “confident in the classroom.” His chronic diarrhea stopped with the first dose of this remedy. Compared to kindergarten and first grade, his second grade teacher does not see any behavioral challenges. 11/3/10 – Improved confidence and focus. He is concerned about 3/16/11 doing well in school. Still no diarrhea or stomach pains. Playing well with others. Better eye contact. More engaged and responsive. He is becoming more self-aware. Blames himself for bad situations with friends. Doing great socially. More spontaneous and fun. 3/17/11 – 4/13/11 Easy going. Diarrhea starts to come back since 4/6/11. Still 36

More engaging with friends. “He is doing better about knowing what makes his classmates upset.” He asks self-reflecting questions “How come things are hard for me?” “How come I don’t understand everything?” 4/14/11 – 7/11/11 Mellow, fun, singing. Engaging with peers. Less critical of himself. More “with it.” He is more present and in the moment. Mom says he still could use more eye contact. He is playing baseball and actually hitting homeruns. He is engaging with his teammates. Improving socially. Still somewhat afraid of dogs but he can ride his bike past houses in his neighborhood that he knows have dogs. “He is doing great.” He wants to play handball. Result Good days at school, did well on a test, teacher reported he was more compliant. Made a friend on his initiative and picked out a book on his own to read. Tried some new foods. Generally more social. Squealing a lot. Dad says his language is getting better slowly but surely. He is also progressing noticeably with his home school studies. With the last dose, his sleep got worse and he became more possessive and jealous. Aggravation on first dose, low attention span, imitating teachers. Then he has great days at school, great attention, compliant. Cognition slowly improving. Grasping subjects faster. Learning Karate routine faster. Attention and focus are better. Conversation skills are improving: providing more details about events and he is becoming more interested in father read him stories. Recalling old incidences and mentioning dreams. Vocabulary is improving. Language continues to improve. Carrying on conversations better. Teachers report cognition is good. More OCD behaviors noted. Slow and steady progress with home schooling. Catching on to new concepts faster. Calmer after getting a dose. Plays nicely with neighbor. Falling sleep later. Continues to improve cognitively and with language. More fearful. Has been taken off Adderall as of 2/12/11 and shows symptoms of mild aggression and increased self stimulating behaviors. No further improvement from this potency. Tutor was amazed at how compliant and cooperative he was. Got over an incident that was causing emotional pain. Mom says “it was amazing, the difference in his attitude.” He is not pulling his hair out. This is a big plus as this behavior was problematic. Slowly improving in his reading skills, his language and conversation continue to improve. Did beautifully when traveled to see grandparents. Grasped a new math concept after only a 49

few examples. Loves social studies and learned the 50 states. Fluency in reading is still a challenge. He has to sound out 3 letter words. Mom says “He is coming out of his fog.” He is becoming more independent. He appears to be more aware of his surroundings than his peers with Autism. In the last dose, he started to pull his again. Playing well. Dramatic improvement of vocabulary. Further improvement in cognition. Reading by himself books with 3-4 letter words. He says things that surprise mom in their appropriateness, or a term he will use. Mom said to dad: “wow, can you believe he said that?” He is now more easily memorizing words. He was off Adderall for 5-6 months. He has improved socially and plays consistently well with his neighbor. Mom was concerned that his attention span was not improving so in June began him on a medication and he has been calmer on it. He continues to improve cognitively and mom says “he thinks more analytically. He is coming out of his fog. He blows my husband and me away. Remedy is helping him with his intelligence.” He has anticipation anxiety and gets concerned when mom is away. In the last two weeks of July, mom had to be away and he handled that great.

Introducing Strattera in June ’11 has helped a lot with attention and focus. He stills struggles with reading but is starting to memorize words faster instead of sounding out everything (C-V-C words). He is definitely catching on faster. His Speech Therapist indicated that 4 mos. ago he was labeling pictures (she uses flashcards) at the rate of 10 labels per 30 sec. and yesterday he was doing 30 labels in 40 sec. so she was very pleased with his progress (50% increase).

Result More talkative, better mood, gets grouchy toward the end of the remedy. More aware of his surroundings and told mom of a conversation he overheard. This was unusual for him. Wanted to go to a haunted house. This was very different as he is very afraid of the sight of blood. Said “I can handle it, mom.” Not much change. Good mood. Quite pleasant. Mom wants to remove Valtrex. Good for a while but too emotional toward the end. Very successful remedy for his allergies. Fine spirit, cheerful, helpful, talkative, neat, doing well overall, less grumpy, high functioning. Off all his medications except for Vyvanse (ADD). No change Doing well but no huge difference. He immediately got a cold with lots of coughing in the chest. This was a first time. Getting good grades. Every teacher has good things to say. Mom says “it has been such a great year at school for him. He has had straight A’s and keeps feeling confident.” Needs less aid time. He is no longer on Vyvanse. He was invited to join the National Honors Society. Tolerates eggs well now. The second day after dose, he is more emotionally sensitive and no further improvements are noted after that. Wants to avoid school when anxious. He got over his reluctance to start fencing classes. He answers questions when asked whether he wants to do an activity or not instead of saying he would think about it. Mom thinks he should be a bit more interested in spending more time with peers.

Result Low grade fever and generally better mood. Calm and fewer tantrums. Stools are getting better. Rash is developed and he is constipated and has tantrums when dose is given too frequently. Attention span and cognition show improvement. ABA and speech therapists at school commented that they have “observed that he is more attentive and engaged now.” Less stimming. His vocabulary has increased and his rate of learning is higher. He is learning to build sentences and add emotions using speech devices at school. He is mimicking other people on youtube videos, puckering and making sounds. He has new words: juice and chips. Still attentive and calm but he is stimming. Hyper. Happier and better mood. Using the bathroom more regularly. He has reached a plateau in improvement and he is being aggressive again. Doing well. Progressing in school. High stims. Regular and soft stool. No further changes are noted. Good mood, less hyper. Rash on his face. Stims are high. Decreased anger and tantrums. Receptive language continues to improve. There are behavioral improvements noted. “Behaviorally, he is definitely improving.” He learned how to ride a bike by himself. He watched his brother and learned. He has his training wheels and he learned to pedal. Generally, he is much happier after this remedy. He has regular bowel movements. Good mood and calm. “We notice he started to play with his toys and playing with his little brother… not a lot but he started [playing] more than he ever did previously.” “We noticed him answering questions with head gestures for yes and no.” He played with his truck two times. This is new. He wants to be around the other members of the family more. He spends a lot more time in the kitchen where mom cooks or in the living room where the family gathers to spend time together. He used to only want to be in his 63

room alone. Summer school teacher was pleased with him because he successfully completed 3 out of the 4 tests that he was given. Receptive language is definitely improving. He will do what he is asked to do like put his bowl in the sink, etc. He will put his shoes on when he wants to communicate to parents that he wants them to go outside to play with him. He has sticky and foul smelling bowel movements. He is showing more awareness about his body. He is noticing when he has had a bowel movement in his diaper and wants to be changed – he signals this by going to the bathroom door and wait.

He has also been getting alignment and readjusting by chiropractor for the past few months but we don’t know what the effects are. Generally, his reading has improved. He would blow me away with reading. There are a lot of positive changes. I can relax because he is not going to run away. Before, I could not take my focus off of him for 1 second. I can now let go of him and he is playing with office toys and he is doing really well. I have seen a lot of changes and I am really happy.”

Controlling behavior came back. Rode his bike on the street for the first time. At first no changes were noted except 3 bloody noses. Will say “I love you too” to mom when mom says she loves him. He had not responded like this for a long time. Bullied every day in class. Class size is bigger. Has mellowed out quite a bit. Attempts to start conversations more. Definitely more affectionate. Still has no empathy and still has social issues. He said “mom, do you remember you forgot to pick me up from school in February, 2009?” Mom recalls the incident and he is right! Mom says “we feel like we live with a regular child [these days] and we forget to be more sensitive.” “It has been fabulous.” There have been a few nosebleeds. More engaged and happy. Quick to 83

He wrote Thank You notes to all of his teachers – this was a first. He is showing some defiance which mom says it is like when his typical sister was growing up. “He is now expressing actual feelings.” He talks a lot more and is more communicative of his feelings. Plays with sister more and does pretend play. He understands emotional concepts better. Mom is more relaxed because he has progressed so much. Reading comprehension is a challenge. No more improvement is noted after last dose. He seems to understand better when he hurts mom’s feelings and is more apologetic. He also makes the effort to repair the problem by saying that he will not repeat the behavior that mom did not like. He approaches mom and talks to her more.

Date 2/19/10 – 5/2/10

Result More emotional, PICA (eating pieces of wall) at first when aggravating. Direct eye contact with his brother (a first). He sang a song with motions and eye contact with brother (a first). More savvy regarding how to get what he wants. Great day at school. He is more “with it”. He was mad because he couldn’t have another child’s corn at lunch (a first). “We were in shock. This was a BIG DEAL to sing with brother and have his first EVER eye contact.” Had a great time at a bounce party. “He absolutely exhibited a new level of independence.” He anxiously waited for his friend to come down a slide. When the friend came down, he made eye contact with him. “It was the first time ever that I felt that he really know what it was to have a friend and care about another child.” “He is attempting to communicate more and more and has a lot of new sounds since this remedy was given. He is trying hard and there has been a little breakthrough in language.” “Huge amount of progress in potty training. Only 1 pee accident a day instead of 5-6.” He is also more jumpy and hyper and is chewing things more than before this remedy. “His personality is coming through: when his teacher turned her head away when he was performing a song, he went over and turned the teacher’s head toward him as if to say “look when I am performing.”” He is able to quiet his body. 5/3/10 – 5/14/10 He said “I love you” to brother and father and felt proud of himself. He is learning faster. Participating in class and his “sneaky personality” is coming out. 5/15/10 – 8/7/10 Sleeps longer. More verbal. He is enjoying and wants to be with family more. “He is more part of our world.” Improving skills playing with Wii. Displays compassion and empathy. Playing appropriately with playground equipment and has a great time. Toward the end of this potency, his stimming increased. 8/8/10 – 9/12/10 Doing well and is showing persistence. 9/13/10 – 12/6/10 More independent. He is proud of himself. His language is 88

improving strongly. Walks to other kids playing and wants to do what they do. He learned how to start Wii all by himself. Therapist commented “that his understanding is very strong and he has made great improvement.” Calm and more independent. “Stronger eye contact.” Making new sounds. Mom says “something clicked today” and he is potty trained. He can say “I want…” spontaneously. He wants to involve people in his world and he wants to be in charge. Speech therapist says “He is making great progress.” So many stories. Independent, loving, good digestions, transitioned well to new class. His confidence and strength are growing. Language continues to improve. Aunt who had not seen him for several months comments that he has changed dramatically and she felt she had a relationship with him. “Most clear speech we have ever heard.” Mom’s friend who had not seen him recently said that he is “engaged, completely aware, and understood everything you [mom] said to him immediately. I saw a calm in him too.” Mom can explain anxiety producing situations for him and he understands and goes through with what he has to do calmly. Biting is almost non-existent. Speech therapist is “amazed. I have never heard him talk so much.” “Everyone around him is noticing a boost in language.” He is saying Water and “I want that…” Before homeopathy he was not able to stick his tongue out or lick a lollipop but now he is fully using his mouth and tongue. In his IEP, it was reported that he played with another child. “This is huge for him.” He is widening the circle of people he shows affection to from just parents to grandmother. He is able to use an ipad application to communicate. Teachers “were blown away by his progress in learning this tool.” June 9, 2011 IEP shows that he is no longer behind academically. On 6/20/2011 he received a stem cell treatment. Calmer on the first dose. Then he is extra active, walking in circles when aggravated. He is saying more. He told mom “I am all done” very clearly twice unprompted in appropriate situations. He also played with grandma for 30 minutes and she reported that “he was saying a lot and really trying hard to talk.” Speech teacher was very complementary and said he his language was “GREAT.” He screamed angrily “DADDY” when he was sad and angry that his dad was away. “It was probably the most clear I have ever heard him talk.” He 89

was really excited to see him back. Mom says “he PLAYED... he made up his own game with a ball …” He also brought a board game to mom and brother and sat down to play with them.

Did he just say that?” His little brother told a joke and no one laughed. He said “this is a rough crowd.” He was driving with dad and told dad to take a different road because it would be shorter. Dad said no. He said “dad, trust me, this is a shorter road.” On the last day of school, he is going to do the opening of rap line. He talks much more than before. After the first dose, he talked back and forth more. He follows through with conversations. He is using words more appropriately and uses more vocabulary in general. Not much improvement is noted. He had his best speech session ever. More focused, less complaining. “He actually had dialog with speech therapist about a task they normally do.” With the last dose he became defiant with teacher. Mom says “he has made some great gains.” Awesome speech, very happy. “My husband and I were amazed that he could recite this [ABC’s].” “He has speech!” He also has “scanning” which means he can look at his options for choice of breakfast or activities and choose one of the possibilities. Private occupational and speech therapists both said he has matured. He is more loving with mom. When he wants something, he gives more eye contact. He wants to be more engaged. Overall very good improvement with his speech. Using a computer program, he can form and write long sentences such as “[brother] and I are riding the cups at Disneyland.”

Good day at school. Engages his parents in play. He shows good manners. Great awareness and language. Improved listening comprehension, more independent. He had a “wow” day at school. He has good memory recall. Still afraid of being alone. During standardized testing at school, the teacher said “he actually read the whole thing. He didn’t do that last year.” His grandmother passes away and he travels to be with the family. After return from trip, he no longer responds to his current chronic remedy even after acute grief remedy is given. Defiant, obsessive behavior. No improvements are noted. More engaged. Doing better at engaging others. Clearer language. Very sweet with grandma. Aware. He now wipes himself. Intense salt cravings. No longer constipated. He is expressing himself more. He is still hyper and defiant. He is loud and continues to be obsessive about movies and playing on his computer. He is making movies with his own camera. He said “everybody else is happy and I am so miserable.” He seems to be noticing more that he is different. He has an awful meltdown. He has been in a “Listening Therapy” program and one of the side effects is frequent tantrums. Mom had not shared this information so it was assumed that the tantrums were the result of the remedy and the remedy was stopped. He has a very bad tantrum when family has visitors staying with them. No other changes noted. He is calmer after guests leave. He continues his obsessive behaviors and being defiant. Calm and better sleep for one day. Has been lying to parents about whether he as finished cleaning his room. He understands what he is not supposed to do and says “leave mom” before he does things he has been told not to do.

Result Mostly aggravation symptoms with no apparent improvement. Slept more hours. More compliant in therapy. He caught a cold. Therapist said he was aware, had good language and talked a lot. He asked questions. He was infracted but the period of time that he would be aggressive from that was reduced. He is more aware and talkative. He is singing a lot more. Very intolerant of noise. Phenomenal day at school, initiated social interaction. He is talking so much – mom says “he won’t shut up.” He has started to do imaginative play. “He had never said I love you to me.” Less obsessive behavior. Did not have a tantrum when he was refused a request. Increased eye contact. He plays with toys. Lower stims. More spontaneous language. Improved awareness. He is completely off the antiviral medication. Grew ½ inch in one month. Language is great. Mom says “he is on the road to recovery.” Focused. Aware. Low stims. Responsive. He is rebelling which is new for him and a sign that he is developing his own ego. Dietary infractions are having very little effect on him even though he is off all his supplements and medications that would help with this issue. “Awareness has gone up a lot” and mom says “for the first time I feel quite hopeful for him.” He is making a lot of effort to be more social. He ate a Snicker’s bar which would have caused a very bad reaction but it didn’t. Mom says “my life would have been hell [if not for this remedy] if he had eaten this before.” Potency is very strong for him and when aggravated he is tensing his body. Then he fewer verbal stims, less body tensing, and more relaxed. After third dose he did not aggravate. Mom reports “stims disappeared” and said “Homeopathy works!” He sat down and watched TV for 1.5 hours. He has never done that before. Mom was “shocked.” He talked to mom about normal topics of 115

conversation and he sat on uncle’s lap during a family visit. These are both new developments.

Better memory retention. More ideas. Improved behaviors. Loving. Aggravates on this dose and when 6C is given no new changes are noted. No new improvements. Language and cognition are better. Immediate positive response. Less aggressive, more cooperative, less constipated, fewer allergy symptoms. Loving and affectionate. Language and cognition improvements noted. Second dose of this remedy did not bring more changes. Great reaction. Less hyper, less defiant. No further improvements noted. Hyper and does not feel well. Calm and relaxed. Then more hyper. Big improvements in behavior and language. Mom says “we loveeeeeeee this remedy.” More spontaneous language, more inquisitive. “What an instantaneous difference in behaviors, stimulatory behaviors, attitude, language, mood, everything!!!!!!!” He has allergy symptoms when in his bedroom. No benefit is noted. No effect. Has had an acute sinus infection and allergies. “What a difference as far as behavior, less aggressive and calmer.” He is more social. Great mood, very loving and sweet. Improvements in cognition. He loves space camp. He learned how to swim at camp this summer even though mom had been trying to teach him for the past 5 years without any success. His sleep and appetite have been great. IEP (Individualized Education Program) professionals evaluated him as typical: “he no longer needs supportive services: he appears like a typical child.” He is no longer considered to be on the spectrum. 120

Conclusion 24 cases were selected randomly out of 35 active cases with this diagnosis. The treatment summary in each case showed the remedies that were administered and their results during this protocol. Parents were asked to complete a form describing the effects of this method on their child. Based on the scoring system of the evaluation form, improvement was noted in every category and every child experienced improvement. Three of the 24 children (cases 1, 19, 24) had their diagnosis changed and are no longer on the Autism Spectrum.
