How to Make a Pocket Heart Valentine Supplies
• 8-1/2 x 11 sheets of colored paper (Double-sided paper is fun, but regular colored construction paper works, too.)
• Scissors • Stickers or clear tape • Pocket valentine template (see page 2)
Cut
• Using the paper template, cut out a “flower” shape from a sheet
of colored paper. Your flower shape has 4 semicircles. Each “flower” makes one pocket valentine.
Fold
• You’ll just need to make two simple folds to create the pocket heart.
First, fold up one semicircle as shown in the photograph, and press down on the fold.
• Now fold up the semicircle right next to the side you just folded, and press down on the fold. You’ll see that you have created a heart-shaped pocket!
Tape
• Tape the two pocket pieces together using clear tape, or try Valentine-themed stickers.
Surprises
• The pocket is ready for you to tuck in a poem you’ve written,
Valentine’s Day coupons, an acrostic, a lollipop, or anything else that says, “Be my Valentine.”
