HOW TO UPLOAD A PICTURE INTO A POST / MESSAGE ON THE FORUM This is actually very easy, and not technical. All the hard work has been removed from the process to make it simple. I assume you know how to get to the page for entering the text of a new post, or a reply to a post. So your page will look something like this;

To add a picture, click on the ‘Add image to post’ button on the lower left of the text box. This opens up the Postimage window, which allows you to choose the picture to upload;

IMPORTANT; Unless you are using other features (not necessary for this forum) DO NOT login, register or add to favourites – there really is no need or advantage. Upload should be set to ‘Image’, NOT ‘Url’. If you wish to link to a picture elsewhere on the web, then you should be more knowledgeable about using web interfaces and do not require this guide. (If you really want to do this, then please feel free to experiment). If you wish to add a number of pictures, feel free to use the ‘Many Images’ button. Personally I do the images one at a time as I like to write a line of description under each one. The choice is yours, I am showing the Image’ setting here. The image you wish to upload should be on your computer. It should be in .jpg, .gif, .png format. The most likely is jpg. (these are the most common picture formats, and the system may allow others but I have not tried them). The size doesn’t seem to matter, as a test I uploaded a 5Mb picture with no problem. The software will automatically resize – see later. Click on the ‘BROWSE’ button and then find your picture in the new window which opens up. Click on your desired picture and click Open to select it.

So, you have now selected the picture you wish to upload. The location is in the ‘Choose Image File’ box. We now move on and choose the size of the picture. This is NOT the size of the displayed picture, it is the size of the picture the view will see when they click on the small picture in the post. The size of the display picture in you post cannot be altered (unless you now how to code). I suggest you choose 640x480 or 800x600. Too small is pointless and too large is wasteful.

Almost there, told you it was easy. This bit is often missed out and causes the non-display of the picture. Make sure you have selected ‘Family Safe’ NOT ‘ADULT Content’. It will NOT be displayed if it is adult content.

Click on ‘Upload it!’ and the uploading begins. Depending on your internet speed this can take a length of time. You will see the following;

Once uploading has completed ,the Postimage window disappears and you are back to the text input window. This time there is a line of code which is where your picture will go. DO NOT change this code unless you know what you are doing, do not add anything to the line.

And that is it, complete your post and click submit or preview as normal.
