For the past year Professor Ahmed has been an active member of HETL and has provided valuable advice to HETL executive management in the areas of sustainable learning, peace-building, and international relations. Professor Ahmed was appointed Ambassador of the HETL Association for the Africa and Middle East region in March, 2012. Professor Ahmed is an avid researcher who has published book chapters and papers. His work has been recognized through awards and he was invited to be a speaker at the 2011 World Congress on Engineering and Technology in Shanghai, China, the Fourth Annual Nanotechnology Symposium, Sullivan University, College of Pharmacy, 2011, United States, the 2nd International Conference in E-learning and Distance Learning, Riyadh, KSA, 2011, and the Third Forum of the Technological Learning & Managerial Training, the Technical College of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2010, and others.
