Individual assignment: Cross Media Interaction Design The individual essay will be graded as Pass with Distinction, Pass, or Fail (VG/G/U). Individual essay on Cross Media Interaction Design The assignment evaluates the student’s ability to actively and individually orient him/herself in present research within the field of Cross Media Interaction Design. By doing so, the student is required to write an individual essay. The topic of the essay is: How do Cross Media Interaction Design differ from traditional Interaction Design, and what are the most important challenges that arise for someone trying to design good interactions in Cross Media systems?. Further, the assignment requires that you find and select appropriate scientific literature related to the topic. Your paper should be outlined as follows: Abstract: here you make a summary of your paper. Introduction: here you make an introduction to traditional Interaction Design (as outlined in the course literature). More specifically, the introduction should provide the reader with a quick outline of the most important theoretical concepts and terms associated with interaction design, as well as the major practical tools and methods existing in the field today. The introduction should not be too long. Maximum one page. Addressing the topic: here you describe your view and take on the subject described above. Your text can include reflections and arguments made by you and by other researchers. Make sure to handle references, quotes etc in a correct manner, so that the reader easily can tell the difference and also identify arguments made by you, and arguments made by other authors. This section can be all from 13 pages long. Conclusion: here you make a short summary of your main claims/findings and results. It can be a list of important findings, or a short section of conclusions. This section can be approximately half a page to ¼ of a page. Additionally, the paper should meet the following formal requirements: •

The length of the paper should be 2 to 4 pages long, following the mentioned format.



The paper should be written in English.

Grading criteria In order to pass, a paper should illustrate that the student has oriented him/herself in the field of Cross Media Market Interaction Design; this is illustrated by selecting relevant scientific literature. Moreover, the student has made her/his own summary of the areas required in the instructions, where the summary origins from the selected literature. In order to pass with distinction, a paper should illustrate that the student has oriented him/herself in Cross Media Market Interaction Design, by selecting relevant scientific literature. Moreover, the student has formulated convincing arguments for the selected literature and area of interest. Finally, the student has showed ability to critically examine the selected area and research, through own reflections and arguments, but also by comparing different points of view presented in the selected literature.
