Our young singles gathered around the table at the Miller’s home Dear Camelback Family, What seems so simple – how to share God and live life with Him – can be so difficult. That is especially true since what is in the Bible can play out so differently in each of our lives. We live in a challenging time for Christians, not because it is so oppressive, but because, in general, people today have become disinterested in God and sharing His love is now seen as forcing your religion down their throat. As young single adults facing this challenge, we have started a Young Adult group in which we can live out our lives, whatever our situation, in fellowship with each other. The group is built on the principles of which the teachings of the Bible are the cornerstone. How those principles apply in each life can be different, so we come together with a two-fold purpose: 1) to hear how people apply God’s word to their lives and 2) provide a place where we can help each other in our struggles and offer praise in our successes. We dive into God at church, but encouraging and practicing a way that does not leave God at church is how He begins to live through us. Our goal is to have activities that are insuring that God is not remaining in any box, but pervades every part of our lives, most importantly our social and everyday lives. Many relationships begin at college and shortly after. It is this time that is as good as any to be as on fire for God as we can be and share it any way we can. Being a young adult is a learning experience to say the least, and if we can look to God as our example and guide, there is no telling what fires He can start! — Conner Graeff (22 year-old team member)

Conner has expressed it so well – the challenges and complexities that we all face as believers, young and old alike. Sometimes we can feel like it is overwhelming to say the least. But when it comes right down to the bottom line, we find and believe that our God is bigger than any challenge we could ever possibly face. It is His word that makes all the difference in our lives as His Holy Spirit directs us and guides us each step of the way. If we are trying to live the Christian life without reading God’s word or praying on a regular basis we will find ourselves weak and anemic, just like we would physically, if we went without food for any lengthy period of time. Young Single Adults continued. . . .

It is so important to allow God to bring balance and consistency into our lives, regardless of our age. When we are obedient to God and put Him first in everything we do, life takes on special meaning and purpose on every level. The leadership at Camelback Bible Church is deeply committed to Julianne Forte & Carson Abernethy loving God, reading and studying His word, and to reaching out to the Young Single Adults at CBC and beyond. They believe along with doing those wonderful things it is also very important for young single adults to have great times of fellowship and fun. Christians, we believe (because of Christ) should be some of the most joyful and vibrant people on the planet. We also believe that we are saved to serve. The Christian life is all about loving God and others . . . giving to God and others . . . and serving God and others. We would ask our members and friends at CBC to please pray fervently for the ministry of The Young Single Adults at Camelback. This would be so greatly appreciated.

Praying with our Elders Our gracious and holy Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us true freedom in Christ. In Him we are free from the power of sin. We are free to love others as Christ loves us. We are free to serve you with single-hearted devotion. We are free to lay our lives down and take up the lives of others. Help us to truly understand and walk in these freedoms each day this week. Amen — Elder J.R. Sloan

FAMILY LIFE We join Mark and Ashley Ortman in welcoming their 5th child into the world and their family. Wesley Davis was born at 3:45 AM last Saturday, June 30, weighing in at 9 lbs. 4 oz. Both he and mom are doing great. Praise to the author and creator of life! ___________________________________ Former CBC member Wade Ward serves as spokesman for the Prescott Fire Department, a difficult role given the recent deaths of 19 members of the hotshot crew fighting the Yarnell wild fire. For Wade, the men of the Fire Department are his mission field. May God use Wade, and Dan Morgan, who joins Wade in this work, in a mighty way as they serve the families of these men, their co-workers, and the community.

MISSIONARY CORNER MIKE HILDEBRAND Navigators – University of Arizona! Navigators asked me to consider moving to Tucson and the U of A. I am fully in agreement with my leaders and thankful for their commitment to advancing Christ’s kingdom and to me as one of His laborers. Thank you for your partnership with me as I transition, for the logistics and expenses of the move, safety and many good visits with ministry partners. UCSB (University of California, Santa Barbara) will not be staffed, making the move more difficult. Pray our students there will stay connected with other campus organizations for discipling. Pray for Cooper Smith (in photo). We memorized Scripture and prayed together for three years.
