She is already a full-fledged artist.” - Rorianne Schrade, New York Concert Review International award-winning pianist Jennifer Campbell appears as concerto soloist, chamber musician and recitalist throughout Europe and the mid-Atlantic US. She has performed at notable halls including Lincoln Center, the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Clayton Opera House, Freidham Concert Hall, Studzinski Recital Hall, and the West Chester University’s Madeline Wing Adler Theater among others. As concerto soloist, Ms. Campbell has performed with the Lansdowne Symphony, the Delaware County Symphony, the Wilmington Community Orchestra, and the Delaware County Youth Orchestra. Her extensive repertoire ranges from works of J.S. Bach to Israeli-American composer Avner Dorman. Ms. Campbell has been awarded first prizes in the 1000 Islands International Chopin Piano Competition and the Baltimore Music Club Piano Competition. At the 2010 Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition, she won first prize in the Well-Tempered Clavier category and the Overall Prize for the Best Performance of a Contemporary Work. In addition, she has been the first place winner of the Music Teachers National Association Senior Piano Performance in Delaware for three consecutive years beginning in 2006 and in Pennsylvania she has placed first in the West Chester University Piano Competition, Tri-County Youth Festival Senior Piano Competition, and the Marian Garcia Piano Competition at Penn State University. As a finalist in the 6th New York International Piano Competition, her most recent solo appearance was in the Nadia Reisenberg Series at the Burdaz Theater in New York, where she was also interviewed with WQXR’s Robert Sherman. Ms. Campbell most recently performed in the Aarhus International Piano Competition in Denmark, where she was the sole competitor in the semi-final round representing the United States. Ms. Campbell is also an enthusiastic chamber and ensemble musician. She performed as resident pianist and keyboardist for the Peabody Concert Orchestra in 2011-2012. In addition to performing in piano trios, quartets, and piano duo ensembles, Ms. Campbell is an accompanist for the Peabody Conservatory. She has received coaching from John Shirley-Quirk, Phyllis Bryn-Julson, Ah Young Hong, and Seth Knopp among others. Ms. Campbell is also an enthusiastic vocalist in both the Peabody Singers and the Peabody Renaissance Ensemble. Also an avid composer, Ms. Campbell’s music has been performed by numerous prominent artists. Her ‘Piano Trio No. 1’ received its premiere performance by members of the Philadelphia Orchestra at the West Chester University New Music Workshop in 2007. Other notable premieres include her “Discovery” and “Only the Beginning” for violin and piano at Gore Recital Hall at the University of Delaware. Her choral work “Our Emmanuel” was premiered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Ms. Campbell was commissioned by the Winterthur Estate to compose a piece for the Garden Fair Benefit CD. She has been chosen as winner of the MTNA composition competition in both Delaware and Pennsylvania, and received Honorable Mention at the Eastern Division level in both 2011 and 2012. As a violinist, Ms. Campbell has performed in numerous recitals and orchestras. Ms. Campbell was concertmaster for the Delaware County Youth Orchestra from 2008-2010, where she performed the solo in Jennifer Higdon’s Blue Cathedral. At the Delaware Sumer Music Institute, Ms. Campbell was concertmaster as well as violin coach and counselor. She is currently resident violinist at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption in Baltimore, MD. Ms. Campbell often performs her own violin compositions in her solo piano recitals. In her academic pursuits, Ms. Campbell remains on the Peabody Conservatory’s Dean’s List with High Honors. Ms. Campbell was previously a piano and composition student of David Auldon Brown at the Darlington Arts Center and Music School of Delaware. She is currently a junior at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, studying with Brian Ganz on merit scholarship. Ms. Campbell has had additional private study with Seymour Lipkin and Matti Raekallio, and has participated in the masterclasses of Leon Fleisher, Jane Coop, Hugh Sung, Leon Bates, Eugene Albulescu, Stuart Goodyear, and Anthony DiBonaventura.
