FIRE DISTRICT NO. 2, JOHNSON COUNTY, KANSAS RESOLUTION NO. 2017-2 A Resolution by the governing body of FIRE DISTRICT NO. 2, JOHNSON COUNTY, KANSAS, with respect to its annual budget for 2018. WHEREAS, K.S.A. 19-3622(b) provides the governing body of fire districts shall have the power to levy a tax not to exceed 8.5 mills to pay for the cost and expense incurred by the fire district for operations and to pay principal and interest on bonds; and WHEREAS, K.S.A. 19-3622(c) provides the governing body of the fire district may increase the mill levy authorized by K.S.A. 19-3622(b) in an amount not to exceed 11.5 mills by adoption of a resolution. WHEREAS, K.S.A. 79-5040 provides all statutory fund mill levy rates and aggregate levy rate limitations on taxing subdivisions are suspended; and WHEREAS, budgeting, taxing and service level decisions are the responsibility of the Board of Directors of Fire District No. 2, Johnson County, Kansas, who has adopted an annual budget for 2018 in excess of 11.5 mills. NOTICE TO BIDDERS CITY OF PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KANSAS PROJECT: 2017 STORM DRAINAGE REPAIR PROGRAM

Sealed bids will be received by the City Governing Body of Prairie Village, Kansas at the office of City Clerk at the City Hall, 7700 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas, until 3:00 p.m. (CST) on August 30, 2017. All bids shall be submitted in an envelope stamped "Bid", sealed and addressed to the City Clerk, and marked “Project: 2017 STORM DRAINAGE REPAIR PROGRAM”. At the above stated time and place, all bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the designated closing time will be returned unopened. The project includes, but not limited to, concrete channel replacement and repairs, streambank improvements which included rip-rap and concrete block wall construction. All equipment, material and workmanship must be in accordance with the Bid Documents, Plans, Project Manual and Contract Documents on file with the City Clerk, Prairie Village, Kansas. Copies of plans and specifications can be seen or purchased for a Non-Refundable fee on-line at www.drexeltech.com in their eDistribution plan room, additional assistance is available at [email protected]. Information regarding this project can be found in the “Public Jobs” link on the website. Contractors desiring the Contract Documents for use in preparing bids may also obtain a set of such documents from Drexel Technologies; 10840 West 86th Street, Lenexa, KS 66214, telephone number is 913-371-4430. Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc. Non-resident corporations that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State and all non-resident individuals and partnerships are required by law to register with the Director of Revenue, State Office Building, Topeka, Kansas, and to pay a fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each and every contract as a precedent to commencing work on the contract. For contracts in excess of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000), the foreign contractor shall file with the Director of Revenue an acceptable bond for ten percent (10%) of the contract. PRE-BID MEETING: A pre-bid meeting will be held at Prairie Village Public Works Office, 3535 Somerset Drive, Prairie Village, Kansas at 3:30 p.m. (CST) on August 22, 2017.
