Youth Group – Ihayami Fusion 12-week term: Fri 13 Sep – Fri 29 Nov Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm Cost: £70 Ihayami Fusion is Dance Ihayami’s youth dance group that meets on a weekly basis in Edinburgh. The group gives young dancers the opportunity to improve their Indian classical dance skills, explore ‘fusions’ with other art forms, work with different choreographers, learn new moves, be creative and have lots of fun. If you are aged between 11 and 19 years, and have done at least one year of Indian classical dance classes, then get in touch with us.

Bharatanatyam Classical Indian dance with a harmonious blend of expressions (Bhava), melody (Raga) and rhythm (Thala) while Natyam means dance. In Bharatanatyam, the dancer is a story teller and the language is of hand gestures, facial expressions and rhythmic footwork. Classical Indian dance classes are a great way of improving your fitness level, flexibility and strength. Our teachers have extensive experience of teaching classical Indian dance to people of all ages and abilities. We offer classes to suit all ages and different level of experience.

Mohiniyattam The swaying coconut trees in the gentle breeze is reminiscent of the soft and languorous movements of Mohiniyattam- the feminine classical dance form of Kerala, South India. Literally meaning the Dance of the Enchantress.

Missed Classes If you couldn’t attend your class, you can make up the missed class during the same term; please speak to your teacher and he/she will advise you which class you should attend.

Cancellation Policy If you wish to change or cancel a course, we must be informed by the end of the second week of the term. After the second week of the term, all courses will be nonrefundable. Refunds will only be issued in the event that we cancel a class, and not be issued for situations out with our control. We also reserve the right to give credit to students when cancelling a class. Before committing to a course, please be sure of your availability. Dance Ihayami reserves the right to cancel a course if the minimum of 6 participants haven’t signed up for the course in advance.
