Faculty: Ruth Bacon has been a Suzuki student since she was very young. She completed long-term Suzuki training for Books 1-10 at UNM. She completed her Master’s degree in Violin at Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with William Preucil. She was concertmaster of Ashland Symphony, section violinist in Canton Symphony, and played as a substitute for Richmond Symphony and Minnesota Orchestra. She also played with Star Wars In Concert tours. She currently holds a permanent position with Knoxville Symphony. She happily returns to the faculty of Suzuki Violin Camp.

Tennille Taylor began Suzuki violin at age 6. She completed her BM at Arizona State in Music Therapy. She completed long-term Suzuki training with Susan Kempter at UNM. She also completed Suzuki training with William Starr and Barbara Barber. She has owned and operated Tennille’s Violin House Suzuki Studio since 2004. She is currently the director and founder of the Dead Composer’s Society classical concert series at the Totah Theatre, and is Principal 2nd violin of San Juan Symphony. This will be her 8th year as director of Suzuki Violin Camp.

Detach this portion and return with payment by Friday, May 24. Classes: Group Class/Play-In: Students join together to play the pieces they know from all the Suzuki books. Masterclass: Students listen and learn while observing one student at a time in a lesson. Observing students take notes to apply the same concepts in their own practice. Technique Class: A group class where students play together to focus on one or two techniques or concepts per day. Performance Class: A class focused on polishing a few specific pieces to be performed at the end-of-week concert. All-State Preparation: Students grades 9-12 will be introduced to the 2012 All-State audition repertoire. Chamber Music: Students form small groups to perform ensemble pieces.

Requirements: -Students must have all pieces before their current Suzuki piece memorized. -Students must be able to walk one mile comfortably (we will be walking to the park for lunch). -Students must display a positive, focused attitude and be ready to learn. -Students need to bring a sack lunch everyday.

Final Concert will be Friday, June 21 at 3pm.
